Official Election Day 2005 Watch [Live Thread]
Shameless Vanity Post | November 8, 2005 | BillyBoy

Posted on 11/07/2005 11:46:41 PM PST by BillyBoy

My Fellow FReepers,

As it now past midnight (well at least for those of us in Central Standard Time) and I did a general search and couldn't find a single thread dedicated to election 2005, I have taken the liberty of creating one.

THIS is the place to post all your updates and discussions on '05 races around the country. From the Boston Mayoral Race to the fight for Virginia Attorney General, keep the adrenaline flowing here.

Will the GOP make a midterm gubernatorial comeback after suffering through the 2001 "mistakes" of McGreeley and Mark Warner? Will Ahnuld, the CA Dummycrats, or independent minded conservatives emerge triumph in California's latest (but not greatest!) "special election"? Will the liberal incumbent crush his equally liberal challenger in New York? And do conservatives even care?

Let's get the discussion rolling folks. You heard it here first!

Folks:

Keep an eye on the AG race in VA. I'd put that one in the "too close to call" category right now.

The Republican will probably win, but the gap is less than 1/2 percent, and less than 8,000 votes out of 1.8 million. I did a quick scan on the areas that haven't reported and many of them tend to vote Democrat.

Mrs. Clinton is caught between a rock and a hard place. To win the Dimm nomination she has to climb into bed with Mother Sheehan....especially if her primary challengers are centrists/right candidates in the mold of Mark Warner.

If Mrs. Clinton embraces the likes of Mother Sheehan, she loses the South and the electoral college. ---- (God bless the founding fathers.)

Lautenburg was placed on the ballot clearly after state rules state someone can be added to the ballot. It was a dubious election and he was picked as a big name to ensure a Republican didn't win the seat after their lame rock democrat was losing HORRIBLY In the polls to the Republican. That was so far from a legitimate election to get Lautenburg in it's ridiculous. That was NO election. It was a typical NJ hose job.

I don't think Mrs. Rodham can win the Dem primary. She's already alientated the anti-war kook fringe.

It's a funny thing about being in the center, it's the only place where everybody can hate you.

Do you have some inside information or are you just speculating? Corzine's seat comes up for election in 2006 even if he appoints someone. I don't know the rules in NJ about how long the Governer can appoint someone without an election. Lautenberg's seat is up in 2008 I believe.

I have a prediction for you: 15 years from now, Obama will still be referred to as a "rising star".

Hitman I noticed that you advertise for this clown Michael Savage in your tagline. As long as you listen to this man, you will remain angry, bitter, and frustrated with a doom and gloom attitude.

If Hillary gets the nomination, Richardson could be the VP choice, but if I were in her shoes, I would go for Bayh of Indiana as VP. Hillary already will get the vast majority of black and hispanic votes anyway, what she needs is to make inroads into white married voters. I think Bayh would help with that more than anyone else.

Millions of libs get there news from the networks or cnn. The only conservatives that get their news from cnn or the networks are people who are a glutton for punnishment or those who enjoy reverse physhology and get real news by figuring the opposite of what's said there.

I am not at all angry, bitter, or frustrated with a doom and gloom attitude.

Now could you verify those comments you made about me? When did I predict a Bush loss in 2004?

Things are going GREAT with the GOP the past week. Maybe you need to move to a red State that's actually elected a real republican in the past 100 years.

NJ and VA just elected Democrat governors.

Based on what the traitorous Democrat party stands for and based on the rise of the Internet and the fall of the MSM, nothing short of a Democrat disembowelment should be acceptable.

Yet we lose the only two major races.

The electorate in this country is embarrassing. We have a long way to go. It might as well be France.

Interesting that Bolling outdrew Kilgore by almost 70,000 votes and McDonnell bested Kilgore by about 55,000. It shows that Kilgore was not the most effective candidate on the GOP side.
