PARIS -- Police officers, exhausted and dispirited after 11 nights of street battles, say their mainly young African and Arab adversaries have access to sophisticated weapons including grenades and could soon begin using them. A dozen officers were injured, two of them seriously, after being shot with hunting rifles fitted with lead pellets during rioting last night in the suburb of Grigny, south of Paris, police said. Jean-Christophe Carne, president of a police trade union, told The Washington Times before last night's outbreak that police officers were increasingly pessimistic that civic order would be restored anytime soon. "Most of these kids are being coached by professional petty criminals and gang leaders in the suburbs," said Mr. Carne, president of Action Police CFTC. "In the past, when we have cracked down on these criminals in their homes, we found drugs, grenades and heavy weapons such as guns. While they haven't started using these arms yet, there's also no reason to think they wouldn't."

No, no, no! With all the French gun control laws and the fact that Islam is a religion of peace, the police in France have nothing to worry about.
I'm sure we could spare a few troops from Iraq to bring the French up to speed on urban combat.
I think it would be really neat if the Israeli government were to issue a statement advising the French to act with restraint.
the bad guys better watch out..if they start shootin guns, the french will just have to double fart in their general direction to get even...
amazing isn't it..the cops don't want to shoot to avoid inflaming the populace, while the populace, knowing they won't be shot at, continue to shoot..
the logic employed by the french is truly making my head swim..
LOL.....I second that suggestion.
Pinging Ariel Sharon.....:)
ROFL..I just spit out some tea and barely missed the keyboard on that one...:)
I'm guessing that the coaching comes from professional terrorists, not petty criminals.
I have to laugh. Heavy weapons=guns? Does this loser have any idea what "heavy weapons" refers to? I think not.
"Honey, I'll be in the basement cleaning one of my favorite heavy weapons. Hollor when supper is ready!"
"I'm sure we could spare a few troops from Iraq to bring the French up to speed on urban combat."
One U.S. Marine could certainly handle this chore.
France has disarmed it citizens so now they are forced to fight with whatever they can find. A lesson to all of you gun control nuts.
I'm interested to see how long before France starts defending itself and protecting its people... if at all. Hell. These people have made an art of giving in to aggressors.
I was listening to the Neal Boortz show. A caller called in and suggested that we do absolutely nothing. If the Muslims happen to take over France, the first thing we do is to take out France's nuclear capabilities. Then let them sit there for a few years under Islamic rule. Then we go in and save them... again.
I like it. Except I know after we save them, they'll let the Muslims right back in and say, "OK. But if you act like that again, we'll only give you three weeks off from work instead of four. And this time, we mean it!"
"Most of these kids are being coached by professional petty criminals and gang leaders in the suburbs,"
They just don't get it.
Well now if you had a society that understood the right to bear arms you wouldnt have a problem right Pierre?
"A dozen officers were injured, two of them seriously, after being shot with hunting rifles fitted with lead pellets during rioting last night..."
Whoever wrote this doesn't know shinola from a shotgun.
Yah know what, I really don't feel sorry for the Froggies--although I'd hate to see all of France go Muslim. Has Le Pen had anything to say?
You're absolutely right....didn't notice that. Nice catch.
Given the context of rabid gun control in France, that comment is certainly understandable.
