Paris/France burns, Live thread (night #10)

Posted on 11/05/2005 9:39:59 AM PST by Dane

It is now getting dark in Paris and in all of France(appx. 6:40 PM Paris Time), and if there are any French FR lurkers(lurquers), this may be the thread to post your reports about any further violence.

It seems the French govt. is impotent in it's response to what seems are jihadist thugs and it seems the American media has put a news blackout filter to what is really happening, so as not to embarass their heroes, Chirac et al.

So any news reports or personal reports from what happens tonight are welcome, and don't worry about broken English, reports in French are welcome also, I have no doubt someone can translate.

I really dread putting up a live thread about such a matter, but it seems that the American MSM is following French govt. orders to play down to what it seems is an insurrection.

If there was any form of prejudice involved it would be Jews and Christians doing this, but of course they aren't, because Christians and Jews don't do this when persecuted. The french have been moving more and more in an anti-Semitic /anti-Christian direction every year the pasd decade. The persecution of Jews and Christians in france is legion, so the mention that this has to do with the french being prejudiced against muslims, and that offending westerners is really offensive to me. Where the heck was all the disgust in the western world with the well known prejudice attitudes of the french against Christians and Jews the past decade? THAT sure hasn't seemed to bother anyone. But heaven forbid anyone be prejudiced against muslims. Things like this make me sicker and sick of islam. The sooner the arabs run out of oil and they no longer have anything we want, the BETTER!!! ;|

Reaping the whirlwind, but I still feel for those who believed their own propaganda about things (and remember that when you are convinced that something is what you name it, no matter what the reality is), and are now getting a taste of the difference between want-it-to-be-one-way and the-way-it-really-is.

Where are the reports from France about anything other than burned cars and property damage?

This is their only concern, and not that big of a concern; because they subsidize Renault and Citroen quite heavily. Until people start getting hurt and arrested they dont care.

Why should we?

This just in...finally help has arrived:

Sting to Madonna: Thanks

I caught up with Sting last night at the big charity dinner for Food for Life/Soil Association. He was surprised to learn that Madonna had sampled his hit “Every Breath You Take” in her new song "Push," as we reported yesterday.

“Really? They didn’t call us,” he said, then added, “but good for her.” Well, good for Sting, really. Madonna’s nod to him means money in the bank.

Whew - if it wasn't for Sting and Madonna I just don't know what would become of Paris /s/

Amen Allen, great posts by the way.

I just hope this bs doesnt spread across Europe where we have some allies. One thing is sure, the french wont admit we told em so no matter how bad it gets.

The financial markets do not appear to be buying what the media are selling.
While the media were chattering about calm returning on Friday, the Euro fell through its months long support level on afternoon trading mainly in New York and Chicago after the European close. Any European financial institution that didn't stay open late Friday evening until the New York close is going to need Scuba gear to find their positions when they open the books on Monday morning.
The markets appear to be smelling what the islamofascists are cooking.

I just talked to my brother who lives on the left bank, in the heart of Paris.
I asked if there was any concern there. He laughed and said it was not much different then what goes on all the time in Oakland. He spent most of his adult years in San Francisco, so he knows what happens there.
He said it was all overblown by the media, as was Katrina
in New Orleans.

The experience would probably be something like Katrina and Rita. No matter what the feds did, it would all be Bush's fault.

My guess is, IF there were rioting in a red state, city or town, there wouldn't be much of a problem. Rioting in a blue state would be a disaster with the local Democrats losing control and responding badly, ala New Orleans, Las Angeles and every other major city where the Democrats hold control. They talk the talk to get control but they are incompetent and cannot walk the walk when events require leadership.

“The way the french are, they should be equally concerned if their shorts are clean.”

I get your drift. I had been thinking the same thing since the beginning. But never the less, they, by their filthy customs, do not change underwear every day. Is it once a week or longer? I can’t remember.

I read somewhere here on FR that many bathe twice a year, before winter and in the spring. They use their showers as a closet between baths.

Ooooo big word. If you'd of read my post without a predetermined bias, you would understand it has nothing to do with any malice towards french for the sake of it, my grandmother happens to be french, therefore I am party french. I am also mostly german and I despise most everything the nation of germany has stood for and done the past 100 years. Do I have your permission to do that? And it also has nothing to do with satisfaction I get from this destruction. Satisfaction in something and recognition of it and its root causes are very different things. I don't take pleasure in any civilians dying because of the acts of thuggary like are taking place in france. My clear and obvious point is that france did this by bringing in so many millions of muslims for decades and not making them join french culture. And further it proves that placating radical islam doesn't work any better than placating nazism. Don't jump on me becuase the french as a nation are slow learners with memories that clearly don't go any further back than 50 years. When they weren't burning the world to the ground under napolean, they were a brutal colonial conqueror nation like England and Spain, ruining thousands of cultures in the process. Now they've gone the total 180 in the opposite direction, having NO spine and NO will to fight for what's right.

I would be THRILLED if france was a REAL ally, governed by a REAL representative constitutional democracy, who stood with America in supporting liberty and freedom and democratic principles, instead of against them. But that is not the case. france has betrayed the founding principles which first brought them real freedom out of the darkness of the Bastille. The french are on what, their 8th or 9th Constitution. And they have the audacity to turn their noses up on us? Took them EIGHT OR NINE TIMES to get a Constitution that stuck? Whatver.

Just because you have a bias to the french and a complete lack of recognition of the fact that this is a problem of the french's own making, doesn't make it my problem, it's yours. Don't try to make me out to be some kind of sadist who want's people to suffer, just because france has behaved like a labotomized zombie the past decade and is now paying for it. I didn't create this situation. I simply point out they made it. Don't plant the seed today if you don't want to deal with what grows from it tomorrow.

France rioters: 'Each night we make this place Baghdad' By Hans-Hermann Nikolei Nov 5, 2005, 15:32 GMT

French fire fighters tackle a burning car in Aulnay-sous-Bois, a north Paris suburb duirng the ninth night of rioting on Friday 05 November 2005. French police have arrested more than 200 people following fresh riots in and around Paris and other parts of France. More than 750 cars were burnt on the ninth consecutive night of unrest in immigrant-dominated areas near Paris, despite a heavy police presence. EPA/E.TRAVERS / P. LE FLOCH Paris - 'We burned 15 cars. How many do you have?' A grim contest is under way in France as kids from disadvantaged suburbs vie with each other to see who can riot the hardest.

On Internet websites, young arsonists brag about their successes. Rioting, it seems, has become a trend sport, as youths in immigrant areas of provincial cities begin to rally to the call from Paris.

While political slogans hold no sway among these youngsters, hatred for Interior Minister Nicolas Sarkozy is palpable. 'Now we're the ones chasing you with the Karcher (high-pressure hoses),' they say, referring to Sarkozy's pledge to clean the suburbs of 'scum'.

What began as pitched battles has transformed into a nightly game of cat-and-mouse with the police.

Two or three people set out armed with mobile phones, crowbars and incendiary material. A quick hit with the crowbar on the windscreen of a police van, a Molotov cocktail inside - and they're off back into the sprawling housing estates.

The rioters have also started using motorbikes and mobile phones to trace the movements of police riot squads, in tactics reminiscent of urban guerrilla movements.

'Each night we turn this place into Baghdad', says one masked youth in Sevran near Paris. As a political statement, there have been better - but these riots seem to be more aimed at the television cameras than the National Assembly.

'It would be better to go into Paris than break up everything here,' his friend says, appearing to consider that the victims of the rioting are predominantly their own neighbours and friends. 'These are our kids,' says Mohammed Rezzoug, vice president of Blanc-Mesnil football club.

Every night, Rezzoug is out on the streets talking to local youths in a bid to prevent his own sports hall going up in smoke. 'They answer me: 'Momo, we'll fuck them all',' he says.

Lurking behind the lines of burning cars is the knowledge that these riots could soon become a matter of life and death.

On Wednesday night, a disabled woman in Sevran barely escaped death in a burning bus.

Youths barricaded the road with burning tyres and threw fuel into the bus. All the other passengers fled, but the 56-year-old, unable to move, was sprayed with petrol and then a burning rag was thrown inside.

The woman survived the attack with second and third-degree burns on one-fifth of her body, after the bus driver managed to pull her to safety.

Before this is over the same silent protesters may be burning effigies of Chirac and his car. By then I hope they will have learned appeasement doesnt work.

Burn Baby Burn.

They can hire the looters/rioters to build Renaults and Citroens.

You are welcome to go over and help them out, Dane.

They do need to send in the Army. I am very worried about France falling into anarchy - I don't want our cross Channel neighbour falling to pieces, as annoying as I find them at times.

I hope this is the end for the liberal Euro Trashset.
Bringing out the heavy guns has never been a problem for a society that knows where it is headed (like the US) and not trying to make every girlieman and screaming feminist happy.
