Ohio Senator Mike DeWine on Samuel Alito and his agreement that this nomination is not filibusterable: Oh, I absolutely do. I mean, this is not under what our definition of extraordinary circumstances is. This is a nomination that's clearly within the mainstream of conservative judges.

If renquist had passed away after O'Conner left there would be much more pressure on senators like Warner, Hagel, and Specter.

The dems will fillabuster and Snowe, Collins, Chafee and McCain will not vote for the nuclear option.

That means the dems only have to pick up two senators out of Warner, Hagel, and Specter. I don't trust any of them on the nuclear option and we need two of them.
