A CALL to ACTIVISM!!
Let's get on the phone and write e-mails en masse to get our Republican Senators solidly behind the nomination of Judge Samuel Alito.
CONTACT INFORMATION for REPUBLICAN SENATORS is HERE!
The only Republican to hold statewide office in Florida who had any balls is Jeb Bush.
I have contacted Clinton and Schumer..let them know how I feel
We used to live in the democRAT Socialist republik of Illinois, so we've taken our earnings (tax money) out of this welfare wonderland. We moved to a farm in my bride's birthstate, Ohio.
Cheers,
OLA
I lived in Florida in 2000. McCollum deserved to lose that race. He was an absolute cold fish on the stump, barely campaigned, and couldn't find a clear message. This is also the reason he will never get nominated to anything except for head of the Winter Park homeowners association.
Great! Thanks!
That must have felt REAL good! ;)
I always have to let my Senators know how I feel. I never get responses from them, well...occasionally, I receive those auto responses. I don't think they like what I have to say ;-)
DeWine at least makes an attempt......
No, I didn't keep the link --- but it's TRUE.
When I find it, I'll ping you.
Nope..........just a little box with a red x.
Roll?? I thought they were on Bushes side. You mean some pubs are NOT pubs??? Who would have thought that.
DeWine came out swinging on this one. Even said he'd go for the nuclear option. We need to keep the pressure on.
Maybe they don't want us to see the crying scene any more......
Thanks dubyaismypresident.
We need to replace liberal Dem Nelson with Katherine Harris as a true conservative senator of Florida!
Martinez has disappointed in some area but I believe he'll support Judge Alito.
Done! Thanks for the remind.
"But Chafee's Gang of 14 colleague, Sen. Mike DeWine, said that he and others would be willing to break from the pack and go for the nuclear option if a filibuster were threatened by Democrats.Let's not beat up those who are learning their lesson... I suggest a note of support!
"I just have not seen anything so far that would make me believe this is even close to those 'extraordinary circumstances' that our group envisioned when we talked about the justification for a filibuster," said the Ohio Republican, who is up for re-election in 2006. "If it does, people like Lindsay Graham and I, who are part of that group, will be willing to vote to change the rules of the Senate so we do not have a filibuster."

Remember the usual rules of thumb... Threats are usually counterproductive when writing to elected representatives. Let's be polite but firm, and not let our passions throw this opportunity away. Let the Dims get nutty and push hard.
Specter thumbed his nose at the administration and party, stating that he would reject any extremist (ie, original construction) judges. This was after they endorsed him and saved his committee membership. I think someone needs to pitch the usual rules of thumb.
The GOP should quit endorsing people like him and Chafee and boot them from the Judicial committee. To do otherwise would be blatantly irresponsible.
BTW - I will be polite but crystal clear with the Senator. I plan on protesting anyone that opposes the nomination.
