Per Fox News...
True, the nomination was going down, but in order for the President to retain control of the process, HM had to withdraw for at least semi-plausible reasons. Krauthammer (and no one else, I might add, until later) provided that. Fred Barnes lamented that since Krauthammer said this brilliant plan publicly, it would be unable to be implemented. Regardless, it was a plan of action, and we got Alito instead of Miers. A good day's work, indeed.
Shocker ... Reid's not happy about this pick

Great words from the Great One. We know that it is the left's belief that conservatism (which is, in fact, what makes this country great, in my view) is unacceptable in any venue, so, as Mad Ivan has said, ride toward the sound of the guns. I think, in the end, we will be the ones left standing.
I've been disgusted with liberal, activist comments by the prists at Mass lately as well ..to the extreme of even publicly disagreeing with Vatican decisions and actions. I will be calling the Cardinal's office in the not too distant future. We shouldn't have to hear their ramblings at prayer services.
Of course Billy has no idea where he is you understand. /major sarcasm
"Tis a great day for the Irish!
(This one anyway)
Agreed. Now is the time to call DeWine & Graham especially...
Translation, President Bush has put up another one of those pesky conservatives who will behave as a Judge, not a legislator, on the SCOTUS, and represents the conservative movement, the majority of the American people.
I will love to hear how the democrats will not vote for Alito, even though ALL but two (who obstained I believe) of the Republicans voted for that socialistic child sex fan Ginsburg. There is no upside on this for democrats if Alito is a real hard conservative constructionist Judge. Now it's time to REALLY put the screws to the RINOs in the Senate.
It's a good day when that's happening.
LOL! Let the good times roll!
A New Jersey Italian probably has lots of "real world" experience.
I am Catholic,Religion has nothing to do with doing one's job.Main point,no matter what's one's beliefs they must be put aside to do the job one has elected to fill,Business is business personal is personal.Democrats are way off base.
I'm becoming a big Glenn Beck fan as well.
I feel exhilerated, grateful and rejuvenated. In short, I feel like he picked me. Thanks be to God!
This JRB supporter is pleased. Well done, Mr. President.
I would have preferred a Southerner who hasn't been in the Ivy Halls his whole professional career. And I would have preferred a woman but looks like there were just no qualified women left.
It doesn't matter when Chuckie Schoomer keels over, as long as its soon.
