So Fitzgerald is admitting that he failed in the primary objective for this grand jury....so he justified the 2 years by trumping up a very tenuous charge of perjury and obstruction of justice against Libby....Libby made him spend all that time chasing shadows. Is that it?

This has a VERY easy bottom line - Libby is being indicted for lying to the Grand Jury. What he lied about was how they conducted the smear/retaliation on Wilson (deservedly so, IMO).

For some stupid reason, Libby lied before the Grand Jury about the smear. No one did anything wrong until the Special Prosecutor convened a Grand Jury. What was wrong was the lying about what they were doing.

Libby deserves to be fired for the stupidity of lying to the Grand Jury.

That's one of the problems. Cooper's call to Rove was not logged in. Cooper called the Whitehouse directly. He was transferred to Rove's office. But maybe he made several calls to the Whitehouse within a couple of days. But I think not calling directly has something to do with it. Hillary would know how it works.
