Miers Hearing will plow up Bush/Texas lottery dirt?
Hugh Hewitt Program | John Fund

Posted on 10/17/2005 5:26:56 PM PDT by Zechariah11

This is a developing story. Evidently, the Miers nomination will be digging into problems with the Texas lottery that went all the way to then Governor Bush.

John Fund is breaking this story . This will be his second damaging scoop in two days.

Democrats and Liberal reporters must love to wallow around in crap. They spend most of their time digging around in manure and throwing it around hoping some of it will stick.

Democrats won't be throwing any crap at Miers.

They will just sit back and let the Republicans do it.

Someone attributed it to Napolean earlier today, but regardless it applies.

I thought Sun Tzu was the one who originally said "I'm going to Disneyland."

I think it was Napoleon and the quote as I've got it is "never interfere with your enemy when
he is in the process of destroying himself".

What's so shocking is that this isn't coming from the Democrats.

There is nothing "shocking" in Miers' days at the Texas Lottery. This stuff wasn't even dredged up in 2000 when Bush ran the first time.

Fund is reporting on what the plans of the Democrats are.Hewitt's fill-in host reported that the hearings will also get into all the old allegations about the Texas National Guard.

Reportedly the Democrats are going to use everything they can uneasrth to establish in the public's mind that the GOP is the party of corruption.

They're looking beyond the Miers hearings to 2006 and 2008.

Exactly what I was thinking, if there was something really bad it would have been all over the place the last 2 elections. Moving on, nothing to see here.

Since I don't get this program here, could someone clarify? Is the story that there is dirt on Miers, or that the democrats are going to use the hearings to infer that there is?

If the former, I don't believe it. Gore's people were all over Austin looking for anything they could find. If the latter, that isn't news. The democrats will do anything they can to stick it to Bush.

And why is Fund suddenly so interested in this? I have a few questions to ask him if I ever meet him.

Old news. Ben Barnes, GTECH, etc. More nominee baggage that the dark side warned about, oh 10 days ago.

In substance, a non-issue. But it lets the DEMs dig up the TX ANG crap all over agin. Maybe Dan Rather can reprise his fake but accurate memos.
