Re-focus Halloween!
If your school insists on having some kind of Halloween celebration, recommend that they steer away from the ghoulish and occult and, instead, focus on the event as a fall festival. ...
"When you turn evil into a game, it trivializes it and numbs children to its darkness."
(excerpt from email) GREAT RESOURCE SITE for Teachers, Parents & Students.
"I'm amazed that so many are so blind"
You must be Anti Christmas tree as well.
Just for this post I am now insisting the my children dress up as Wiccans.
Good catch.
Maybe in its place we could burn those evil Harry Potter books!
Would that make you feel better?
All: are you Blessed? Or something else? (I preach to myself as I post)
Psalm 1 -- The Righteous and the Wicked Contrasted.
How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked,
Nor stand in the path of sinners,
Nor sit in the seat of scoffers!
But his delight is in the law of the LORD,
And in His law he meditates day and night.

It appears that in the South, seasonal home and yard decorations are very, very in....
Starting with Halloween and going straight through until the 4th of July....
What is this some kind of conservative reverse political correctness? Let Halloween be Halloween.
"Misfits were much better"
"Too much horror business...driving late at night"
What in SamHain is that?........
If you don't want to participate in or celebrate Halloween, I respect that. But let's be honest, most "Fall Festivals" are just Halloween carnivals in drag.
You still have the pumpkins, the candy, the costumes (but not the "scary" ones). What's the real difference?
At our former church they advertised that kids should come as their favorite Disney or Biblical character.
Wife and I had a hard time deciding between Cruella de Vil, Rahab the Harlot or the Witch of Endor.
> Are you part of the light, or part of the darkness?
Yes.
Those who pretend to being one or the other are just trying to fool someone. Often themselves.
**Ok..I had no clue who or what a Jack Chick was until a few minutes after you posted that.**
It appears you have never been in an independent bible book store's tract section.
Oh Lord I am not worthy...Oh Lord I am not worthy. Now where is my mask and sack.
I guess this could be seen as another attempt to remove a Christian religious holiday from the books by renaming it.
Halloween is the evening before All Saint's Day, a traditional Roman Catholic holiday. Making fun of ghosties and goblins and the like is part of the Christian nature of the holiday. Phooey!
Myself, I'll be handing out goodies to the 100 or so beautiful kids who stop my my house on Halloween.
"Fall Festival" = "Happy Holidays"
'nuff said.
