Ann Coulter just took apart President Bush's SCOTUS nominee on the air during her appearance on the Mike Rosen show here in Denver on 850am KOA. She called for listeners to write their senators to oppose the nomination. Wish you could have heard it!
Ann said - "Totally unqualified", called Judge Roberts "a 'dream' candidate in light of this nomination", mentioned "cronyism" over and over. Much more that I'm trying to digest. I called the station to see if they saved the audio, but no luck on that. Mike Rosen was just about speechless as Ann went on and on about why this was a lousy choice.
I agree with Ann. Huge mistake and missed opportunity.
Ann's choice, Janice Rodgers-Brown. Not enough intestinal fortitude in the White House to go with that choice.
Can't wait for Ann's column on this nomination later this week.
God has a way of working things out and i believe that our President sought His counsel for this pick. that is why i trust him. The obvious path is not always the best one.
Well I will pray that the Charlie Brownie cons are correct.
I just hate to think that the football may get pulled....again.
i find that insulting, by the way. and an inaccurate assessment of those giving her the benefit of the doubt.
Gee. I thought it was kind.
Now....now....I'm sure after several shots of Jack's you'll reconsider :-)
I might disagree with Ann here...but I'll still "hit that," even without alcohol consumption.
I just don't believe it should be the primary concern in the president's mind when he selects a prospective Supreme Court justice.
Ann has distinguished herself, primarily, by her columns, books and appearances on conservative talk shows, with the resulting publicity therefrom. One wonders how she would have fared had she used her mind, her constitutional knowledge and legal talents as Ms. Miers has, minus all the fanfare and attention-drawing behavior.
We find people in all walks of life who are more interested in knocking others down, under the mistaken impression that such tactics build themselves up, than they are in making informed and objective observations.
The President advised us to listen to the hearings and judge this nominee after hearing her and watching her.
i don't think it was. but i do think that as with anything important that he faces (and that would be MOST things), he doesn't do without praying about them.
Look, I don't want to start a flame war with you, but you don't have a clue what you're talking about. The Bill of Rights applies equally to the Federal governement as it does the State governments, therefore your whole premise is flawed.
Conservative strength has been weakened more by capitulating than it ever could have by a failed nuclear option fight. A fight would be likely to win and, even if we lost, would have rallied conservatives who are the key to the 2006 election. This took the wind out of their sails.
Actually I was refering to #8 Junior, not President Bush.
Maybe if I had never heard her speak I'd think she was more attractive, but even then I wouldn't say she was hot. She's kind of plain Jane looking if you ask me. Having heard her speak I wouldn't even "hit that" if I wasn't married, drunk or not. I find her repulsive. All I can think about when I look at her is what a nagging witch of a wife or girlfriend she would make. I vote her most likely to be strangled by her future husband.
I need to correct this statement just a tad. The Bill of Rights does not apply equally to the Feds and States, but almost equally. FYI, the genesis of this was Gitlow v. New York case in 1925 for anyone who's interested.
Of course, andyk will argue that this was just an illustration of judicial activism. Then again, I doubt he's ever thought through what would happen if states could ignore the First Amendement whenever a majority decided to do so. Don't think that would happen in the US? Well, I don't want to find out. Seems to me there's a sect in Utah that would love to establish a state religion - but I digress.
Here you go, in stained glass, even....
All this proves is you are to young for this conversation and have not made up for the deficit by reading some history.
Hmm...so I am "too young", eh?
4 . MIERS, HARRIET E MS 11/3/1988 $1,000.00 DALLAS, TX 75229 [Contribution] DNC SERVICES CORPORATION/DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL COMMITTEE
Gee, note the date! No, what this proves is that you are another one of these...
She just called Roberts a nerd. The woman has turned into a raving whacko!
I used to like her, but she's been off, for a while now. If she hates someone, I'm going to LOVE that person! That's how moronic she's become now. And no, I wasn't pleased by Miers' nomination, but I was willing to wait to see what she was really like, before I made up my mind about her.
You need to grow up, and you absolutely sicken me.
And I absolutely don't care what you think.
