WARSAW (Reuters) - Poland's conservative candidate for prime minister was quoted on Monday as saying homosexuality was "unnatural", echoing earlier statements by the leaders of his party.

Kazimierz Marcinkiewicz, chosen by the Law and Justice party to form a government after last week's elections, told the Polish edition of Newsweek magazine that the prime minister should be involved in the debate over gay rights.

Asked whether homosexuality should be condemned, Marcinkiewicz said: "It's unnatural. The family is natural, and the state must stand guard over the family."

During the election campaign Law and Justice leader Jaroslaw Kaczynski suggested banning gays from teaching children.

As mayor of Warsaw, his identical twin brother Lech drew flak from Western European rights groups for banning gay pride parades. Lech Kaczynski is running second in opinion polls ahead of an October 9 presidential election.

Gay-rights groups say the Kaczynskis have made anti-gay remarks a feature of their political appeal to less-educated, traditionalist voters in Poland -- though Marcinkiewicz struck a slightly more conciliatory note.

"I don't care if someone is a homosexual or not, and even if I found out something like that, I wouldn't judge a person differently than on their actions alone," Marcinkiewicz said.

"But if that person tries to 'infect' others with their homosexuality, then the state must intervene in this violation of freedom."

It's not stupid or racist. #1. Homosexuals are not a race, so that point is rather stupid in itself. #2. As long as indoctrination is going on in schools, and homosexual activists are attempting, and in many cases succeeding, to force acceptance of their lifestyle in every public forum imaginable, including churches, it is infecting others.

Those activists have no right to dictate to others how they practice their Faith, or how they teach their kids to be moral healthy adults, or what their moral values should be.

lol... Homosexuals aren't a race of people, so it can't be a racist statement. I tend to agree that it's a stupid statement because homosexuality can't be caught like a disease so it's impossible to "infect" anyone with homosexuality.

I suspect he is simply tired of homosexual propaganda. I know I am. Homosexuals would like everyone to think that being homosexual is cool and trendy. They tend to flaunt their homosexuality by holding parades and dressing like idiots even though they know it annoys ordinary people.

Personally, I couldn't care less about what people do in the privacy of their own bedrooms, but when homosexuals make a public spectical of their sexuality, designed to make ordinary people uncomfortable. They shouldn't be surprised if ordinary people get angry with them. It's what should be expected if you spit in peoples faces.

If homosexuals would grow up and act like decent human beings, there wouldn't be nearly as much resentment towards them as there currently is.
