They seem to think the Republican party is falling apart

It is. I'm gone.

The histrionics and whining on this thread are like children who trip and fall, then start wailing before mommy tells them they didn't skin their knee at all.

I'll be tuned into Snow's show today.

Far more than you. Go back to DU or LP. Both sites are more along the lines for people like you.

But there are so many other people that are for "certain" pro-life that Bush coulda picked. Why do we, as Conservatives, have to guess what kind of judge we get for our re-election efforts.

My prayers for you and yours too, dear. I get tired of the Bush bashing that goes on here, but I know that the President would be the first to say that everyone has a right to their opinion. A president Kerry or Clinton would silence dissent by using the Patriot Act as a bludgeon. When I cast my vote last year, I was mainly choosing a C-in-C that would stand at the head of our forces and lead. That is President Bush.

It's so easy to judge when you don't have a dog in the fight...

So I take it that you do not want to place a bet on Miers like we did on Roberts??

I hope I am mistaken on this one, but she don't look good. I have taken my shower and am leaving for work. I hope I have confused her with that other trial baloon floated on Friday. I need to research more, but what I know about her I am disappointed with.

PRESIDENT BUSH YOU ARE A BIG DISSAPOINTMENT TO ME!

You liked having Saddam Hussein in power? What's wrong with you?

The research has been done. It is inconclusive. And the fact that it is incoclusive is the reason I am pissed.

We all wanted someone with known conservative credentials. We did not get that person.

It is time to be pissed.

So will you come back when Miers is easily confirmed and votes to overturn Roe or will you continue acting like a drama queen?

I just heard on the radio that AP is reporting that Harry Ried first suggested to Bush that he consider Miers. DO you believe this?

Reid is in NO position of strength. What CAN he say? Say he will fight the nomination? Threaten to filibuster?

The Dems have no position of strength here. They KNOW that they will lose if they filibuster. They have division in their own party between the Minority Leader and the Ranking Member of the Judiciary Committee.

This is an attempt for Reid to save face and not seem obsructionist - JMHO...

She is 59 or 60 years old. So she was 45 when she was support DNC and Al Gore.

By the time Reagan became the Republican President and icon he is, he had an undeniable track record.

Miers has no such thing.

In comparison to what we had an opportunity to place on SCOTUS, this choice is a disaster.

Because the President has never made any decisions just to make anybody 'happy.'

He chose this woman because he trusts her to follow the Constitution, and because he knows her to be a woman of character.

He has spent much time on this decision, and there has been a lot of prayer going into this choice (from millions of us).

And frankly, I trust his character, because in 5 years he has given me no reason not to.

You got it Preacher.

President Bush has buffaloed the Dems for 6 years. Got them all headed in one direction and the went off in another and left them wondering where they were all running to.

He knows this woman, most likely better than any other potential candidate, he knows her opinions and how she thinks. He likes what he sees or she wouldn't be where she is.

All you folks saying you won't vote or you'll vote for a Dem or third party are cutting your nose off to spite your face. You want 8 years of Hillary with Bill standing in the background of the photographs with that s... eating grin on his face? That is what you are headed for with that attitude. The way to effect change is to be a part of it, not to hide under the bed.
