OK, if the math is a problem, and if it's got to be a woman, and they don't have the coglioni to send up Brown, then why not Callahan? She was confirmed 99-0 to the Ninth Circuit.

What are you talking about. The Left was calling Roberts gay despite the fact that he's married with two kids. He wouldn't be on the court if he were single and childless. Face reality, it's hard to be a pro-family, pro-life SC justice whose going to rollback courtimposed social liberalism if you never married or had kids.

What I am talking about is that maybe, just maybe, the nominee never found her "right person" to marry. Or maybe the love of her life was killed in a tragic accident or something. The point is, what does that have to do with how she reads the Constitution?

For the record, I disagree with your statement that Roberts would not be on the court if he were married or childless.

So it seems Miers did not donate to Clinton in 1992.

The one "anti" view you got sounds more anti-Bush and anti-Miers.

Please post a link. I am a conservative Texan, and it would be good for the rest of the country to see the mettle of this SC pick.

Do you research, she isn't how some are portraying her here, and the Dem reaction is likely going to quickly change.

I'm sure. That's what happened with Roberts but he still got a lot of Dem votes and so will this gal. Janice Roger Brown (for example) would have received zero Dem votes and would have been one of many much better choices.

Bush simply took the easy course. Just like he does with the biggest Pork Barrel Congress in history. The same Congress that is failing to end the Death Tax. He has ruined the Republican's reputation as the guardians of the peoples money and now he has sold out to the Major Media by refusing to nominate a "controversial" solid conservative judge to the Supreme Court. He is shown to be a fool by the Dems and the Media.

He has lost my support and I suspect the support of many other as well. This will cost the Republicans seats in both the House and the Senate. An unmotivated base is death to a political party.

Her positions? HA LOLOL Tell me what her positions are then dirtbag.

You are SOOO quick to resort to slurs. I see it comes naturally to you. As for her positions, I will wait for more information instead of taking your path of sliming someone with little information.

You've demonstrated no understanding whatsoever of the courts.

This from someone who has demonstrate no such knowledge himself.

ow many times have you appeared as an advocate before a judge any judge, much less a judge on the SCOTUS?

Well, if you have, apparently it didn't do a lick of good for you, given your propensity for bearing false witness here.

The snarky side of me would say "Treat them as you would a rowdy pet, but then pets are better behaved"...

But seriously, I guess the emotion of the moment and the reality that something they've waited for years for didn't play out anything like their utopian visions temporarily clouds their judgement, releases all kinds of pent up (but overreactionary) fears, and keeps them from immediately seeing all the good aspects, just because it is different than expected. Kinda similar to why many brides cry on their wedding morning, only to afterwards enjoy a long and happy marriage.

I'm kinda taken aback by the reaction on FR today. Not much if any info about this nominee, and people have gone hog-wild deriding her. I'm really shocked.

I would have rather had Janice Rogers Brown, but I can't think of the last time the federalis did anything I wanted them to do, lol!

Did you know Zell Miller is a democrat? Anyone who donated money to him or voted for him: it was for a democrat and they should be run out of town on the rails! ( /sarcasm, in case no one gets that)

Maybe she was married at one time....maybe he died. Maybe she adored him and chose to never marry again. Maybe she had miscarriages. Maybe she desperately wanted a baby with the love of her life and it wasn't to be. I could go on and on and on.

Actually, I am a tad bit suprised at this pick. But Roberts was actually picked to replace O'Connor. So, who knows?

ugh....Martin Frost has endorsed her....ok, I'm worried.

Dirtboy -

How did Clarence Thomas manage to get approved by a Democrat controlled Senate after the bloodbath he was put through. If anyone was a slamdunk to get turned down, it's Thomas.

My little search as I noted earlier noted that a Mrs Miers donated to the Clintoons. She is not a Mrs.

Having said that, it is very normal for a company doing business to donate to both republicans and democrats in the same election.

LOL Leahy wasn't talking about her law firm administrator experience, or her experience with her state bar. I was.

Of course, there' that thing about donating money to Clinton to defeat GWB's diddy. Yeah, I know the true blue conservative in you tells everybody to just ignore that.

She's a capitulation pick, designed to avoid a fight at the expense of those who voted for Bush because of his campaign promise.

If they told him not to pick Luttig or Jones and that they wouldn't support them, they were bluffing, and Bush should have called that bluff.

How do you know Snowe and Collins were not bluffing? It only takes part of the RINO herd to sink the nomination.

There's no way Specter risks losing his chairmanship and McCain undermines his candidacy by crossing Bush on this issue.

Specter probably worked behind the scenes on this one to see who the RINOs were willing to support. McCain has never had a problem crossing Bush, so I don't see where you got that one from.

So she doesn't have that in common with a billion Chinese, does that get you on the SCOTUS?

A seat on the Supreme Court is arguably as important a position as President of the United States.

What would you say if you show up to the voting booth in November 2008, and the Republican candidate is "Cooter" from Dukes of Hazzard?
