From Staff Reports
NORMAN -- An explosion near the University of Oklahoma's Gaylord Family-Memorial Stadium killed one person Saturday, OU officials said. The explosion happened at the courtyard near the George Lynn Cross Hall, Botany-Microbiology Building on OU's campus, which is west of the stadium, according to Sgt. Gary Robinson of the University police department.
The explosion happened during the second quarter of Oklahoma's game against Kansas State.
After the explosion, police set up a perimeter of several blocks and made fans exit the stadium to the east.

Need to keep this bumped, or it will go the way of the LAX shooting.

I agree with your assessment of this story. Keeping it "alive" so to speak is the only way we will EVER get the truth regarding this particular incident. It's going to be tough to get the word out as it is, but we need to try, IMHO.

"Initially, information provided to the Northeast Intelligence Network suggested that that the so-called 'suicide-bomber' was attempting to attach bombs to the buses parked in the area when one of the bombs detonated prematurely."See post #1181.

I've got about 7 decent pics, if I can ever figure out how to post them. Couple of facts apparent from the walkabout:
1. Small bomb. He broke some glass at GL Cross Hall, 75 feet away, at at the architecture building, 138 feet away. It is about 140 yards to the parking garage at the OU Memorial Stadium, another 70 or so yards to the stadium itself. No damage there.
2. He destroyed the teak park bench he was sitting on, and he was "gone from the waist up" according to a cop I talked to, who was one of the first on scene. He suggested something the size of a ziplock baggie. (about the 1-2 kilos I suggested yesterday) No shattered pavement, no stripped bark or leaves from the tree about 20 feet away, and no shrapnel damage to the cast-aluminum lamp post about the same distance on the opposite side.
3. He was within 10 meters of one or more buses. Quite possibly 3 meters, depending on where they were parked (long gone when I got there). My photos were taken about 20-40 minutes shy of 48 hours after the blast, about 6:45.
4. The park bench has already been replaced. Photographer from OU Daily was taking pics of it as I arrived, while cops were making measurements as I walked to class, and as I left, taking my pics on my way home. Couple of newsguys with a video camera, too, mike cover said "Noticias" so I expect they're from one of the local Spanish-language stations.
5. Someone on the thread laughed at the suggestion that it might have been a nice place to sit. It would have been. Bet too many people will be spooked by it to sit there anytime soon.
6. The cop said that he had asked people to leave, as the situation was possibly still dangerous, and about 80-90% of those he talked to refused. Only a few actually left. He figures those are the smart ones, as they would likely have been safe if more bombs were laying around somewhere. They kept people in the stadium to keep them safe, too. 84,000 people suddenly flushed out, would have taken possibly a thousand casualties from the stampede, versus the one to ten or so hurt by a bomb like the one Hinrichs III had. Makes good sense to me.
While I was talking to him, a jogger with her dog tried to cut across the grass about 30 feet or so before she got to the area where the bench was. Her dog dragged her half-way there, with its nose to the ground, before she got her balance back to make it follow her... I have a vivid imagination, and I can clearly imagine what it was smelling, although I could smell nothing at all.

It's definitely not being covered like it should. If this were a regular suicide, it would be getting more coverage than it is. That alone tells us it isn't a regular suicide.

Did you hear the Channel 4 news report at 10? They haven't determined if it was an accident or suicide and she said it may take months before the body (what's left) is released and they have to DNA to determine if it was this kid.
Then they showed how we were padlocked in the stadium after this happened. These were huge padlocks. What if more bombs were in the stadium -- did the numbskulls that did that ever consider that possibility?
The bag check at Gate 7 that night was cursory at best.
No one I know that has seen his picture is buying the OU Administration storyline.
BTW, Channel 4 reported FBI is in charge and being tight lipped.

a Nick Berg who was killed in Iraqah excuse me...killed? No. He had his head hacked off by mohammedens. Don't gloss it over.
To: LibertyRocks
Reports out of OKC are stating that the bench has already been replaced by University workers.
Is the campus to cheap to buy benches? And just how comfortable are they?
To: LibertyRocks
Moussouri was a student at the flight school and had an OU health club card. Don't forget Nicholas Berg was at OU for at least a semester and went to Iraq and was beheaded. All connected to the "nice" Islamic Center on Lindsey across from the Parkview Apartments. I have wanted an investigation of that place since 9-11, but it would not be PC to do so.
After being locked in the stadium by padlocks I just saw on Channel 4 a short time ago, I think 84,000+ of us deserve some answers like yesterday.

OK..this is beyond strange. If u go to the news sites on ottersblog(sp?) and click the link on both of the sites..they tell two different stories about the 'families' reaction. One story I read today quoted the father as saying Joel just wanted to check out, etc..and on the other report they claim the family thinks it might have been an accident!! What gives? From one report we find out that the kid took a YEAR off from school due to depression..WHERE WAS HE DURING THAT YEAR? Anybody know?

---Somethin's up and it ain't good.---
I checked the AP wire stories at the local paper this morning. There were only 2! The first one was the very short initial report, The second was a very brief regurgitation of Boren's disturbed child press release. I don't think anyone at the paper was even aware of the story.
As far as most papers are concerned this story does not even exist.

They have benches in storage to replace any bench that gets damaged. Actually they are pretty comfortable for wooden benches. Saw the new bench today when I was on campus. In fact Channel 9 was taking pictures of the empty bench around 12:30 this afternoon.

she said it may take months before the body (what's left) is released and they have to DNA to determine if it was this kid. Then how did they know whose apartment to go to and search if they didn't know "who" it was? Did I miss something here?

Exactly my comment back to the TV. Guess they want final confirmation? This gets more bizarre with every newscast.

That is very disturbing. What if there had been four more Jihadists INSIDE the stadium? No way out.
Very scary for anyone planning to attend college football games next weekend. Especially in any town that has a "nice" mosque frequented by some students.
