The explosion happened at the courtyard near the George Lynn Cross Hall, Botany-Microbiology Building on OU's campus, which is west of the stadium, according to Sgt. Gary Robinson of the University police department. The explosion happened during the second quarter of Oklahoma's game against Kansas State. After the explosion, police set up a perimeter of several blocks and made fans exit the stadium to the east.
NORMAN -- An explosion near the University of Oklahoma's Gaylord Family-Memorial Stadium killed one person Saturday, OU officials said.
Small enough to splatter his @zz on a bus 100 yards away?
Perspective is important. This was not 25 megatons, nor was this an M-80. Something in between. Just thinking about 50-60 Kg's of man portable go-boom.
.
good point.
They are cryptic comments. Makes it sound like someone had his dorm address?
UPDATE: 5:30 p.m. The three buses parked in the South Oval from yesterday's bombing are now gone. OU Police have also left the scene. The only vehicle left from earlier today is a white limo, which was parked behind the three buses.
The South Oval has returned to normal, with people sitting around the fountains and walking freely in the areas blocked off Saturday following the detonation.
The only sign that a bombing occured is yellow tape surrounding the area where Joel Hinrichs, the 21-year-old engineering student, was killed. A bench also used to be here.
Yep.
The detonators worked properly but the chemical mix of the explosives was not correct and was incapable of causing an explosion.
Next odd one, still going through the rest:

"The detonators worked properly but the chemical mix of the explosives was not correct and was incapable of causing an explosion."
Democrats will probably blame Bush for not funding education enough.
"What does it say when an American engineering student can't build a quality bomb with the education provide him?
How is he going to compete against foreign suicide bomb makers and earn a livable wage?"
</sarcasm>
Wow, such a big bomb that it left no whole in the ground or broke any windows.
Oh, I don't know, if he built a bomb, they probably want to empty his apartment & collect the bomb making materials. Boy, the CRAZY things kids do these days!
I imagine it's not safe for her to live in Oklahoma anymore.
good work, keep going. I don't understand this one.
Wow. nothing on the news...?
The explosives packed a whallop then, but it was not well placed and a bunch of explosives without any effective covering, at a guess. I'm no demolition expert by any means. Black powder in a bag might do something like that, I'd imagine, since the glass wasn't broken in that bus. But heck, I would wonder if the glass would shatter. Shakes a house a mile away and the glass doesn't shatter? Odd.
"Just thinking about 50-60 Kg's of man portable go-boom."
You're not familiar with the area. Try more like a couple of kilos, max, I'd guess. From what I understand, there is no damage to the building, GL Cross Hall, and the photos show no damage to the buses. I'll know more tomorrow, when I walk by there on my way to class. The entrance to the parking garage is about (maybe) a hundred yards from Cross Hall, distance to the street, where the buses park is maybe 20 yards, in a straight line. Depending on where the buses in question were (and they park all along the street) gives you a pretty good limit on the size of the device.
Eaarly, though not the first... we know the World Trade Center was supposed to be first on US Soil. 1995 was covered up to get Clinton re-elected. So we know they returned to the WTC, and returned to Bali, who's to say this wasn't a botched return to Oklahoma.
