The explosion happened at the courtyard near the George Lynn Cross Hall, Botany-Microbiology Building on OU's campus, which is west of the stadium, according to Sgt. Gary Robinson of the University police department. The explosion happened during the second quarter of Oklahoma's game against Kansas State. After the explosion, police set up a perimeter of several blocks and made fans exit the stadium to the east.
NORMAN -- An explosion near the University of Oklahoma's Gaylord Family-Memorial Stadium killed one person Saturday, OU officials said.
It's entirely possible if it was a jihadi thing, the fed gummint would be in complete control of any news coming out on this. It could be they are trying to figure out the slowest and best way to break the news in order to control or prevent a massive and disorderly public response against the Islamic communities all over the country.
The bus angle sounds plausible.
I don't know who died.
I don't know know if October 1st itself has any signifigance, but you have Jewish (Happy Jewish New Year) holidays Rosh Hashanah, October 4th and Yom Kippur, October 13th) and the Islamic holiday Ramadan coming up -- October 4th, I believe it is.

Flight control failure
Why do you think there is a purpose lack of questions or reporting here ? You must have something in mind . I'm curious .
"The police are working on one theory and at present it remains a theory - that the so-called suicide-bomber was attempting to attach bombs to the buses parked in the area when one of the a bomb detonated prematurely."

I just spoke with an aunt of mine who lives in Tulsa. She and her husband were at the game tonight and they saw the area marked with police tape. She spoke with one of the cops and he stated that there were "multiple devices" in the cordoned area. The cops on the scene think that the bomber was trying to attach the bombs to the parked buses when a bomb detonated before he could do so.
Also, what was the nationality/religion of the bomber? (I know that's not PC, but tough)
HAve her or your son tell the stadium security people. They may have caught them on camera.
That's a good question for starters. The second question would be, "...an why would they leave a second bomb behind?"
Just remember, they called Buckhead a conspiracy nut for awhile too, same with those reporting the, ahem, blue dress. Not to mention the Swiftees--just to name a few.

A series of co-ordinated bomb attacks towards the end of the morning rush hour cause devastation on London's transport network.

Sir Ian Blair says there is "absolutely nothing" to suggest the attacks were the work of a suicide bomber or "to rule it out".

Detectives say the bombings were carried out by four British-born men in what are possibly the country's first suicide attacks.
Security sources say at least three of the men are dead after belongings were found at the scenes.
The details emerge as explosives are found in Leeds and Luton after a series of raids.

Two of the bombers are named by police as Shehzad Tanweer, 22, of Beeston, Leeds, and Hasib Mir Hussain, 18, also of Leeds.
Tanweer is thought to be responsible for the Liverpool Street blast and Hussain the Tavistock Square.
A third, Mohammed Sidique Khan, 30, of Beeston, linked to the Edgware Road attack, is named by newspapers. The fourth bomber's identity is not yet known.

Egyptian chemistry student Magdi Mahmoud al-Nashar, 33, who had been sought by police in connection with the blast, is arrested in Cairo.
The 33-year-old Leeds University chemistry PhD student denies any link to the bombings.
LOL--well, it might have gotten more of a mention if it had happened on the West Coast, too. Fox now reporting this as a suicide again. (But that second device...how odd to blow oneself up, and leave a second device behind...)
No , initially it was said a plane hit the Trade Center. Most people here though it was a small craft just because there are (untill then anyway ) dozens of small craft always flying around NYC . That story changed rapidly but the initial feeling of most was that it was a small craft and that was pretty understandable at the moment.
people keep posting that - I don't see throngs of americans performing drive by shooting at mosques if this were to happen.
what I would expect is that people would demand domestic law enforcement step up the action against these people.
Sorry, late to this thread, can't read all of them and this may have been discussed and discounted.
but once it was determined to be an airliner, there was a 0% chance it could have been an accident - even without the 2nd plane.
I would hope that this is SOP.....
We'll see . I doubt thats the case though .
if you read back to last night - the thought was that they were planning to mix in with the exiting crowd to set them off. this morning, I am seeing this idea that maybe these buses outside the stadium were a possible target.
Right and once it was said to be an airlined thats when everyone I KNOW though it was something other than an accident . The media followed up with the same thoughs as well. This all happened in minutes .I was there watching , I know .
