The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

Home grown Islamists may hit US: FBI chief
Full Story

WASHINGTON -- The United States could be attacked by "home grown" Islamist terror groups, the FBI's chief has warned.

FBI Director Robert Mueller told the London Financial Times newspaper in an interview published Thursday that the United States could face attacks from "home-grown terrorism" very similar to the July 7 bombings in London that killed 52 people and wounded another 700, Mueller said.

When asked if the United States could face such attacks from "home-grown groups", Mueller answered emphatically: "Absolutely, it could," the Financial Times said.

DND confirms presence in RP of 33 suspected JI members

By Maricel V. Cruz, Reporter

The Department of National Defense has confirmed that 33 members of the Jemaah Islamiah have been operating in the Philippines “since 2004.”

The department, in a briefing paper submitted to the House Committee on Appropriations regarding the hearing of its P45.1-billion budget for 2006, said all were Indonesians.

The group, called the “Wakalah Hedeibiah,” is allegedly led by a certain “Mantiqui 3.”

Evening MamaD.

No, I haven't heard from Ex-Soldier. He'll update us as soon as he can.

Great list o' links. I sure am glad I don't live in the Philippines. Things seem to be steadily getting worse over there.

Thanks, A_D please pass this one along to everybody else who pinged me for a prayer will you, my friend?

Please pass along to prayer warriors this update: Was touch and go for awhile as they seemed to think it might be viral menegitis. But the final diagnosis is an extremely acute MIGRAINE. She's got meds and was rehydrated via IV. She sat like a little trouper in a hospital hallway on a gurney for ELEVEN HOURS until we saw a Doc. Then it was into an examination room and more tests for another four hours. Rough day. Good payoff.

I never kinew you could get cramps in the legs and knees and vomit and all that stuff she went thru at 0400 from a migraine! But apparently 20 years ago she was hospitalized for several days with the same problem. Hospital staff was awesome...but the corridors were so overcrowded with patients...they were packed, stacked and racked EVERYWHERE! It was like that move OUTBREAK or ARTICLE 99. If you've never seen them...rent them...epidemic coming soon to a hospital near you....

Denver news on KOA radio (850koa.com to listen on computer)

A man was setting in his car, another approached him and
fired a gun several times into the car.

Man is still alive, in hospital.

No known reason for the shooting or who the shooter is.

I got the impression it was not gang related.

'Suspicious Deaths' of Birds Reported in Northwest
Iran
Islamic Republic of Iran News Network Television ^ | October 12, 2005

'Suspicious Deaths' of Birds Reported in Northwest Iran

Islamic Republic of Iran News Network Television (IRINN) Wednesday,
October 12, 2005

(Presenter) After a number of suspicious deaths of wild birds in Aras
River, experts are asking if these deaths were caused by the spread of
bird flu.

(Unidentified man speaking to a correspondent) Let me correct one
thing first: so far, bird flu has not been confirmed. However, the
deaths that we had a few days ago in Aras River created a particular
sensitivity and we immediately set out to take samples and to send
the samples to several diagnostic centers, including the Veterinary
Organization's diagnostic center and the province's diagnostic center.

Initial and preliminary tests for flu have proved negative. However,
since there is sensitivity on this issue, we are undertaking further tests
and it is necessary for these further tests to be carried out at properly
equipped centers of the Veterinary Organization. So we have sent the
samples to the Veterinary Organization. And, God willing, the definite
result on the samples will be known by the end of the week.

Also, today at the meeting of the flu committee of Maku (in West
Azarbayjan Province), we met in the presence of the governor. In view
of the deaths in Aras River, it was necessary to organize the required
coordination for sensitizing the people of the region, for them to
prevent contact with birds that have died or are ill. And it was decided
that teams, with the cooperation of all the (government) offices
throughout the town, would be formed to take steps in the region to
collect and destroy them rapidly.

As for informing people, we have informed the people of the region in
the form of leaflets that are being distributed in three formats by the
Veterinary Organization. We have said in the leaflets that any kind of
contact by people and especially children with sick birds should
definitely be avoided. The Environmental Organization and the
Veterinary Organization will also act to this end.

Post continued at link, you will want to go and read this.

"'CHE,' IRAN, AND THE BOMB"

www.inatoday.com

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "Both Iran and Venezuela claim that their interest in nuclear power is only for "peaceful" uses, but much of the world is skeptical. The United States has reason for deep concern, since both Iran and Marxist Venezuela consider the U.S. an archenemy, and there is substantial evidence that both nations support guerrillas operating against the U.S. and its allies. Venezuela is suspected of aiding Marxist guerrillas in Latin America, especially in neighboring Colombia, and Iran is reportedly aiding insurgents attacking U.S. and British forces in Iraq.

Chavez has eagerly pursued close ties with Iran. Following the July election of to the Iranian presidency of hard liner Mahmud Ahmadinejad, Chavez tossed diplomatic restraint aside and called Ahmadinejad directly to express his congratulations, and indicate his desire to visit Tehran for a "comprehensive expansion" of cooperation between the Bolivarian Republic and the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Two months later, Iran and Venezuela signed a series of multi-million dollar business, financial, and technology agreements. Iran has also assisted Venezuela to develop the means to sell oil to China. In view of Venezuela's "solidarity" with Tehran, Iranian nuclear expertise will, no doubt, soon find its way to Chavez' Venezuela."

Thank God that Kathy will be OK, I do hope it is soon.

That a sick person had to go through an 11 hour wait, is a
danger to all of us.

I have heard the same complaint on the Las Vegas radio and of course in California and the larger cities in Arizona.

Many of the emergency rooms have had to close in the west, due to going broke, because of the illegals use of them and their not paying.

My prayers for both of you shall continue.

"Minuteman volunteers expected this weekend"
By Wilson Ring, Associated Press Writer | October 12, 2005
MONTPELIER, Vt. --

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "But protesters could outnumber the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps volunteers.

"Our department has been in contact with both entities," said Vermont State Police Lt. Tom Hanlon, the commander of the Derby barracks. "Both plan on assembling peacefully to get their message out. Neither wants civil disobedience. We don't expect any problems."

Between six and 10 Minuteman volunteers are expected to be along the border in the Newport, Jay and Troy areas, said Border Patrol Assistant Chief Patrol Officer John Pfeifer.

The counter protest is being planned for the Derby Line green at noon on Saturday."

I have been swamped today but wanted to make sure that you knew that I've posted the new Voice of the Caliphate, and a translation of the film, at www.lauramansfield.com

It's a pretty long download, and the translation is long so I won't post the entire thing here. But all issues to date and translations are on the site.
