The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

Home grown Islamists may hit US: FBI chief
Full Story

WASHINGTON -- The United States could be attacked by "home grown" Islamist terror groups, the FBI's chief has warned.

FBI Director Robert Mueller told the London Financial Times newspaper in an interview published Thursday that the United States could face attacks from "home-grown terrorism" very similar to the July 7 bombings in London that killed 52 people and wounded another 700, Mueller said.

When asked if the United States could face such attacks from "home-grown groups", Mueller answered emphatically: "Absolutely, it could," the Financial Times said.

Very interesting, thank you for looking at the drawing.
(in post 1065)

I have never liked it....so haven't formed an opinion on what it is.. No real reason, it just does not spark my mind to figure it out.

You were correct about the compass directions and I should have caught that, I know how to read maps and did not give it a thought. My computer is facing east, so I was way off.

You could be correct about the wrong date in Oklahoma, I had
the thought that he did try to get in, was turned away and sat down to wait for the other 2 men and figure out a different way in, when it was accidently set off.

With 80,000 people in the Stadium, there must have been
40,000 or more cell phones in there, that should make the odds about right to have one of them be able to match the ringer on his timer.

10-1 does add up to 11, or you could be correct.

The worst of it is that we will never know how close we are to figuring it out.

What do you think of the messages that were posted last night, from the other board? They start about 1591 and I see they are still coming in this morning.

Food Poisoning Affects 330 Kids in Ukraine - Hundreds of Ukrainian School Children Hospitalized With Food Poisoning; Four Critical (10/8/05)

The Associated Press KIEV, Ukraine Oct 8, 2005 — More than 330 school children in western Ukraine were hospitalized with food poisoning, including four who were in critical condition, an emergency official said Saturday.

The first 299 children, aged between 2 and 6, became ill on Friday, possibly from food prepared at seven kindergartens in the Khmelnitsky region. An additional 33 were hospitalized later Saturday, he said....

Authorities Investigate Wildlife Poisoning in Champaign County (IL - 10/8/05)

GIBSON CITY, Ill. State and federal conservation agents have raided a farm in northern Champaign County as part of a probe into the possible poisoning of wildlife, including coyotes and raptors.

Captain Rafael Gutierrez of the Illinois Department of Natural Resources says the investigation began after his agency received complaints of dead animals in the area.

Gutierrez says police believe people were injecting meat with agriculture herbicides and leaving it in fields for coyotes, which would die after eating the poison. The toxin would work its way through the food chain after other animals ate the coyote carcasses.

Included in the toll were birds, including redtail hawks and turkey vultures.

Suppose he did mess up the date? Maybe they had a guard "plant" for the right date and he would have been able to easily get in. He was stunned when they asked to examine his backpack?? That's not what they said would happen? He went to the bench to figure out what the hell was wrong. The chems got jostled and kaboom.

Of course, this whole "wrong day" scenario evolves around whether anyone would be playing at that stadium on the 11th.

P.S. I'll look at that other board.

I heard part of the report on the radio, sounds odd, 330 sick kids from 7 schools.....what did they eat?

It may be a couple days before it hits Promed.

You could be correct, at least it makes sense.

Do you think he was going to plant the bomb and set it off from a distance?

The other two men that ran, did they also have plans or just to help?

Darn, wish I was a mind reader.....on second thought, no, I will pass on reading minds.

We don't know much about the two guys running. But witnessing an explosion would be enough to make me run "After I paused" to figure out which way to go. We may be being mislead by the two men running story.

I think this bombing scenario is most similar to London. That means bombs going off almost simultaneously. The "red bus" in London, the first to go, is believed to have "perhaps" occurred prematurely AND THE ONLY ONE NOT IN A TUNNEL.

Just ONE bomb "in the stadium" would result in a stampede AND an opportunity to set off more "at the exit gates". (They would not dare to lock the gates with an in-stadium explosion). When the OU kids' associates heard and/or saw the explosion, they WALKED AWAY in different directions.

I'd look at all the people with backpacks or bulky jackets in the surveillance cameras which are in the vicinity of the stadium near the exit gates "just prior" to the time of the explosion. Wonder what the temperature was? Well, we may not be able to read minds, but if you're a mother like myself, you have eyes in back of your head. :-)

From Answers.com, Kefir:

Originally made from camel's milk, kefir comes from high in the Caucasus -- a 750-mile-long mountain range between the Caspian and Black seas. Today, however, it's more commonly produced from cow's milk.

It's a slightly sour brew of fermented milk, most of which contains about 2 1/2 percent alcohol. Kefir is reminiscent in both taste and texture of a liquid yogurt.

FRom the article, Louis Freeh: Clinton Sold Out Families of Khobar Towers Victims":

"Freeh better start watching his back. My prediction is the members of the mainstream news media will attempt to protect their idol Bill Clinton and destroy the credibility of Louis Freeh.

"The Clinton smear machine -- a group edept at heeding the advise of Vladimir Lenin, "Accuse others of what you do." -- is already gearing up to destroy Freeh.

"Look for the New York Times to discover alleged misconduct by Freeh. Or ABC News disclosing newly discovered facts of Freeh's ineptitude as FBI director.

'Dirty bomb' source removed from UNH campus
By TONY BERTUCCA
Special to the Union Leader

WASHINGTON — A federal nuclear security agency has removed a radiological device from the University of New Hampshire that could have been used in the construction of a "dirty bomb," according to federal and university officials.
It was one of 13 such devices recovered across the country this summer.

The removal was part of a continuing national project to recover little-used radioactive materials that pose a threat to public health and national security, according to a statement the agency made on Monday.

Over the summer, the National Nuclear Security Administration recovered 13 gammators, heavily shielded devices that house a radioactive substance called cesium-137, a highly radioactive isotope used in medical and industrial radiology. The agency did not want to publicize the project until its completion this week, spokesman Bryan Wilkes said.

"I would consider it a large source of cesium," he said. "In the gammator it was 100 percent safe because of the shielding. But the danger is that if it fell into the wrong hands, it could be used to make a dirty bomb."

Dirty bombs combine radioactive material with conventional explosives and, when detonated, could spread harmful radiation throughout a concentrated area.

The level of radioactivity from the cesium in the gammator, about 400 curies, would not be enough to cause major damage to a large vicinity but would certainly pose a risk if dispersed in a crowded area, according to Dr. Eberhardt Moebius, a science professor at the University of New Hampshire who helped arrange the gammator's removal.

"It was a strong radioactive source," Moebius said. "If someone steals it, you can definitely pollute an area with radioactivity. If someone steals several of them, it would be worse."

Gammators were also removed from sites in Alabama, Illinois, Michigan, New Jersey, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Utah, according to the agency.

Do you really think, that given the control freaks the Clintons ARE that Reno could blow her nose without permission? More likely, HILLARY made the decision and told Bill who passed along the orders to Janet to execute.

TMers, the enemy within ... here's what we're up against ... From the article:

Democrats did not hear what they wanted from Bush. Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid, a Nevada Democrat, said Bush failed to outline a strategy for achieving military, political and economic success in Iraq.

"Instead, the president continued to falsely assert there is a link between the war in Iraq and the tragedy of September 11th, a link that did not and does not exist," he said.
