Mr. Elsworth; son killed in Iraq.

I remember how proud he was of his service. It was his duty and honor to service his country. He remembers the feeling he had on 9/11.

He reminded me that two weeks prior we had stood on the steps of the Pentagon as a family. It made an impact on him, as it should have made an impact on all of us.

I asked him what his firsthand opinion of the war was. He said "Dad, we're making a difference . They need us there".

How many here are old enough to recall the Viet Nam years? I am and I remember the demonstrations, the marches, etc.

In that context, this is historical. An event such as this would never, ever have happened. DC was reserved for the anti-American crowd back then.

We as Gold Star Families need to get our message out. Our troops need our support. The president needs our support.

We will continue to pray for the safe return of all our men and women.

The families you see before you today understand these sacrifices. We understand that freedom is not free.

The blonde lady who just spoke, Mrs. Ibbotsen (spell?) was on C-Span's Washington Journal yesterday morning and was breathtakingly eloquent. She was followed by one the MFSO mothers who just spouted leftist lying points, and the constrast was stunning. Should be on c-span's website somewhere.

Beautiful prayer, Gab. It helps us realize that God is the solid rock we stand on in this war. All other ground is shifting sand. Shifting sand.....a perfect allegory for the sand vermin we saw on C-Span yesterday.
