Mine is an 11 year old lab and she will not go out in the rain either (without assistance).

None. Typical forecast-hot and dry. Will be glad to get our southerly breezes back, that north wind ya'll are sending down is a bit too warm.

I didn't make the "worried about" list. Guess 'cause I'm so new to posting

No way. If I left your name off, it's because I missed your postings either on the Sign In thread or the live thread!

We don't leave anybody out if we can help it.

Thanks for checking in though!

We need side by side pictures. Stuck in a Holiday inn vs the superdome. I dread all the complaints about "false alarm" that will be coming. If this had been a direct hit......and you never know.

Thanks for checkin' Howlin. The folks (mom, dad and sis #1)faired very well (so far.) No rain or strong winds in Waco.

BTW, can I vent at how Chet Edwards is such a jerk. When I was younger, I used to think he was 'dreamy' with his baby blue eyes...now, he's a partisan hack. What a jerk. FNC got a hold of him in Waco and he went on and on about all the 'red tape' trying to get the abandoned VA Hospital opened for evacuees. My dad said "HE's the red tape!" lol < /rant>

I thought I did sign in, but I know I posted a lot on the LiveThread about my preps and my fears. No problem--*somebody's* prayers worked, doesn't matter whose they were!

Talked to my sister Alexis the Bengal Kitty.

Don't know when she'll be able to get back on the computer because my son "rode the storm" out with her at her house and he's a computer nerd.

Lots of leaf debris but that's it. They're both ok!

Mix it all up and drink.

Try the Bloody Bubba with Clamato juice.

You have to remember we have a football team here (Texas A&M Aggies) that regularly attracts about 80,000 people to home games! We got a LOT of people stopping here as they left Houston; between hotels (the game was moved from Sat. to Thursday) and shelters, the "10,000" is what the local reports were saying we were "expecting." No telling how many *actually* came, and hard to tell between friends and family putting them up, shelters and hotels! There was no gasoline to be found for awhile on Thursday, store shelves were totally emptied of stuff (bread, water, ice - two of my kids work at Apple Tree - it was horrendous!). We'll see how things go the rest of the day!

Checking in from Florida. We evacuated Conroe on Thursday. Can't get in touch with any neighbors and anxious for news. Thanks for this thread!

I am finally back online..from Waco..Neighbor called and said no real damage.. We have a tree down but it did no harm. There is no power there ..so the trip yesterday was not necessary except for power it seems.

The trip was something to add to the memory bank..I teared up over all the cars parked along the road..I am feeling very fortunate, very blessed, and pray the mass return does not generate the same problems as the exodus did..We picked the right time to leave and the right road to take..It only took twice the usual time.

My SIL went to Krispy Creme and brought us a treat this morning while the donuts were still warm..Life is good.
..The kittens love all my "new stuff" to explore(destroy) in this strange house.

Here in Spring, we're doing fine. Some tree branches down and the kids were a bit scared of the howling winds last night. Power went out about 6:30AM but came back about 45 minutes ago. I had the generator going to keep the freezer and fridge on. Even had chords running to both my neghbors to take care of theirs. Had enough gas to keep us running thru tonight. Guess it's better to have and not need...

Now the only thing dead is our cable.

Made it through just fine. Only time we lost power was the day before. Center Point told me it was due to all the cars on the road and heat exhaust locked up the grid.

Power was out about 15 minutes, not too bad.

Already have put the lawn furniture back and taken the tape off the windows.

We were all lucky that she weakened and veered off to the east.

Now if we can just gas back into the city!
