Anybody know where the storm went? Last night they were saying it was going to loop around and drop lots of water. I haven't heard one single thing about what's happening with it.

Are you and the family OK? Is there anything we can do for you? We have a few spare branches if you need them.

I'm checking in! Rita passed about 30 miles to the east of us - no rain, just a lot of 40-60 mph wind with interesting clouds and a spectacular sunset...

I'm embarrassed to admit that I don't know which city everyone lives in.

Good, I figured you were OK. I remember when you decided to turn back and wait it out at home.

I know, but these are folks who checked in before the storm and we don't know if they headed into trouble to get someone else out. Have you heard from him?

I need help locating a missing relative from the Beaumont area.

My mother-in-law was a patient at St. Elizabeth's hospital in Beaumont when Rita was approaching. We have been told she was evacuated by military transport, Friday morning prior to 12 noon. While this is known, where she was actually sent is not known. Basically the hospital has lost her.

Her husband, daughter and son (my husband) are very concerned. She was released from ICU just a day before the evacuation. I have spent all day calling hospitals in Texas, LA, Ga, Al trying to locate her but to no avail.

I know new and information is hard to come by, but if any freeper hears a report on where patients were possibly air lifted too, I would greatly appreciate any information.

I have registered with the Red Cross and Fema, along with numerous patient locator sites looking for her. So far no luck.

Thanks everyone.

You know, she might be at any one of the hospitals you've already checked with and her paperwork hasn't caught up yet. Where ever she is, I'm sure she's in good hands.

They air lifted a bunch of patients in various hospitals and nursing homes here to San Antonio.

The mayor this afternoon, before President Bush got here, said that because all of those facilities in Beaumont had good emergency back-up power that they were all being sent back this afternoon via military air lift and a big caravan of ambulances.

I hope this helps some and feel free to FReepmail me and maybe I could make some phone calls from here in San Antonio.

Oh dear. I can't imagine how upsetting that must be. I can't help except for praying that you soon locate her and she's ok.

It's a long shot from Beaumont but you might try Larado. The city was under "Code Rio" but we didn't need to evacuate. Doctors hospital was going to take some of ours and I know people from Corpus and I think San Antonio were being brought in.

We stayed.

Some tree limbs down; minimal damage at "Condo Sweet Condo."

All-day College Football back on TV so we are feeling pretty lucky!
