Roberts: Day Four Set to Begin
On Thursday, the members of the Senate Judiciary Cmte. continue with a third round of questioning. Then six different panels of out- side witnesses deliver their views on the professional and personal suitability of John Roberts to be appointed Chief Justice of the United States. This testimony will take the entire day.

From what I have heard, yes, Roberts is noticeably better than most when he appeared before the SC. And I believe he has argued before them more than anyone else. That's the reason he has the support of dem lawyers who know him. I also heard Linsey Graham say last night that he believed that Roberts was SO good before the committee, that he will get most votes, even from the dems. That they could not NOT vote for him. I love it!

That's the problem, isn't it? Who wants someone making decisions like that who is so enigmatic? He should have a more established dignity or something. At first I was impressed with his charisma, but that soon wanes.

I think you can get all the news anyone needs from the Inet. Watching news on TV can be so redundant. It is the same thing over and over again. And so much sensationalism.
Do you think the Dems have much control at all in these SC confirmations? There are 2 SC justices to confirm this year! The Supreme Court justice is such an important postion that controls such public policy as abortion and gun control in this country. I think we should all be aware and very concerned with what is going on.

"Within an hour of Bork's nomination to the Court, Kennedy (D-MA) took to the Senate floor with a strong condemnation of it. "Robert Bork's America is a land in which women would be forced into back-alley abortions, blacks would sit at segregated lunch counters, rogue police could break down citizens' doors in midnight raids, children could not be taught about evolution," said Kennedy. Kennedy's speech fueled widespread public skepticism of Bork's nomination. Others, including Bork himself, found the speech an egregious misrepresentation of his views."
This is really interesting. Is he still a viable candidate? Or who else might be considered another candidate?

Know this is late. Spelling was not my best as you can see. I find that in my young years of seventy. I see what I thought I spelled but see the mistake a while later (goes for what I want to say to). That said I correct the spelling to "parrot". I thank you for the polite way you pointed out my mistake.
