The Hill newspaper gives us a peek at the Democratic playbook for the Roberts hearings. Below are the attack assignments for the Democratic members of the Committee:
Kennedy -- civil rights
Leahy -- Bybee torture memo
Biden -- privacy, personal autonomyand the 9th Amendment
Kohl -- Property rights and civil liberties
Feinstein -- "judicial activism" and Roe vs. Wade
Feingold -- limits of executive powers
Schumer and Durbin have wisely refused to show their hand.

Stop the bull Biden, get on with it.
He thinks he has him.
LOL..Rush says his bloviating will only allow for one question in 15 minutes..
Biden correctly ascertaining right off that he's out of his league!
LOL ... Rush is right
At least Biden admitted out of the box that he's over-matched, though I'm sure that won't tame his disbelieving ego.
Roberts actually thinks lawyers should advocate their client's position and judges should impartially rule? The Horrah!
Why should a Senator be scared to question a nominee if he's not planning to play 'gotcha'?
Unreasonable, Senator, are those things growing out of your scalp.
And he's smiling!
Danger, Will Robinson!
He's too cute by half.
And loves to hear himself talk.
I hope Roberts slaps him down.
Rush just said that Biden will use all of his alloted time to ask his first question and leave no time for Roberts to answer....
Rush - is the expert surgeon. Biden just lost his spleen!
Biden lecturing instead of questioning.....probably doesn't know enough to ask one.
Levin is right Biden is the stupidest man in the Senate. What a contest.
Plugz is a joke.
Too busy playing folksy. Doesn't wash with him.
BINGO
I hope Roberts slaps him down
He will!
Coburn and Brownback's line of questioning will be very interesting...
I was once a Union steward (back in my liberal days) but I had to stay within the framework of a Union Contract when I handled grievances. Sometimes what happened to people (like getting fired) was addressable under that contract, sometimes it was not. Sometimes real jerks got their jobs back because the agreement was clearly violateed. Sometimes real sweethearts lost their job because the contract was NOT violated. To me it was very important that the contract prevailed--as it should have--not my own personal feelings.
I think this is exactly how Roberts is going to approach his very important job of upholding the Constitution. His own PERSONAL feelings will not determine how he rules, the CONSTITUTION will!
It's a ploy.
