The Dem playbook

The Hill newspaper gives us a peek at the Democratic playbook for the Roberts hearings. Below are the attack assignments for the Democratic members of the Committee:

Kennedy -- civil rights

Leahy -- Bybee torture memo

Biden -- privacy, personal autonomyand the 9th Amendment

Kohl -- Property rights and civil liberties

Feinstein -- "judicial activism" and Roe vs. Wade

Feingold -- limits of executive powers

Schumer and Durbin have wisely refused to show their hand.

Now Sessions is referencing the shifting American opinion away from abortion! And citing opinions about what an inappropriate decision Roe was! This is too great.

Not only are you the only one that thinks Fin is fine... you need glasses or to get out more often.

Well read down my friend. By making such a sweeping generalization you not only risk being full of crap but succeed.

I knew Jeff Sessions was going to nail the Dems when he was having Roberts detail the process of the Supreme Court! Great job!

Ironic, isn't it that the Judicial Committee did NOT vote him out of committee and he then ran for the Senate and was elected....now sitting on that committee himself! Delicious.

Follow-up: A justice, like any judge, should not be constrained by testimony given under oath during confirmation hearings, nor is it fair for a litigant to be burdened with having to persuade a justice who has already articulated a position that bears on the case.

Wow, I didn't realise until now but apparently this is the only place they are on a broadcast radio station. At least according to their web site.

I hope you caught that someone said they were on NPR.
91.5 FM in New York (also 93.9, 90.7, and 88.3, so apparently you are surrounded).

Sessions is completely attacking the abortion argument!

Oh this was brilliant. Introduces that R V W is not settled among scholars, the people (polls) etc...strips the Dems arguments to shreds and Roberts vows approach of an open mind.

I nominate Sessions for the 3rd opening, if one arises. I dare the Senators, (RINO's) to allow their "own" to be filibustered.
