Just heard on FOX that Blanco refused to allow supplies to be brought to the stadium, "Because they wanted all those people to leave, and they didn't want to create a magnet to bring others there, by bringing in food and water!"""

Someone needs to inform Leaky Leahy that one of his own prevented all the water and food and meds from getting to the Super Dome. He was asking "what the hell was going on" Now he knows, Blanky Blanko wouldn't allow it. She should be impeached.

Be fair...the Mayor did tell the people to bring their own food and water. ...for three days! Don't forget the lawn chairs. Just like a tailgate party, right?

That's when Bush took her aside and made her the offer she wanted to think about for 24 hours. She has admitted that she did not understand what Bush wanted her to sign. She had to seek advice about it. The next question is then, WTF was this dimwit incompetent doing in a governor's position? (Yes, I know the answer, but it is just unbeleivable...)

So, our national policy is to let people sit in their own waste matter and starve to death if they get stranded in the disaster area?
Please tell me the Republicans didn't come up with that clever idea?

No you are correct. she ran against Jindel (sp?) and pulled a last minute stunt that he didn't have time to respond to. That was the reason given for her sudden surge. I think they just had to find a reason to being more dead people to the polls for a win.

Head of the Red Cross Points Finger at Louisiana's Homeland Security Department
On last night's O'Reilly Factor (9-6-05) American Red Cross president Marsha "Marty" Evans repeated the reason the Red Cross did not go into New Orleans that is published on their official website. She claimed that Louisiana's State Homeland Security Department refused to allow the Red Cross into New Orleans because LA-DHS felt that the presence of the Red Cross "would keep people from evacuating and encourage others to come into the city." Neither she nor the website gave the name of the head of that department, but it was easily obtained on the website of the Department of Homeland Security in Washington.

No one before Major Garrett bothered to ask the Red Cross WHY they didn't show up? Somebody must have, because the Red Cross has been listing it (Why aren't you in there?! FGS) as a FAQ (Frequently Asked Question) since the middle of last week.
The MSM probably knew the answer, and deliberately lied to the public.

Bad thing is, I don't think Nagin is really keen on doucmentation of his conversations. The guv already has people "reconstruction" events on paper. This will make Nagin look like a bigger fool thatn he already does.
Another thing, has anybody mentioned yet how much influence organized crime has had in New Orleans and Louisinana for the past 50 years. The guv may have been getting HER orders from someone not even in the real gov't.

And this means what? It's the MSM that is accusing FEMA of doing this.

REDCROSS
Disaster FAQs
Hurricane Katrina: Why is the Red Cross not in New Orleans?
- Acess to New Orleans is controlled by the National Guard and local authorities and while we are in constant contact with them, we simply cannot enter New Orleans against their orders.
- The state Homeland Security Department had requested--and continues to request--that the American Red Cross not come back into New Orleans following the hurricane. Our presence would keep people from evacuating and encourage others to come into the city.
- The Red Cross has been meeting the needs of thousands of New Orleans residents in some 90 shelters throughout the state of Louisiana and elsewhere since before landfall. All told, the Red Cross is today operating 149 shelters for almost 93,000 residents.
- The Red Cross shares the nations anguish over the worsening situation inside the city. We will continue to work under the direction of the military, state and local authorities and to focus all our efforts on our lifesaving mission of feeding and sheltering.
- The Red Cross does not conduct search and rescue operations. We are an organization of civilian volunteers and cannot get relief aid into any location until the local authorities say it is safe and provide us with security and access.
- The original plan was to evacuate all the residents of New Orleans to safe places outside the city. With the hurricane bearing down, the city government decided to open a shelter of last resort in the Superdome downtown. We applaud this decision and believe it saved a significant number of lives.
- As the remaining people are evacuated from New Orleans, the most appropriate role for the Red Cross is to provide a safe place for people to stay and to see that their emergency needs are met. We are fully staffed and equipped to handle these individuals once they are evacuated.

What I want to know is where Governor Blanco was getting her orders from? Do the letters D-N-C mean anything to you? Actually not.
Try D-L-C, like in Hillary Clinton.
This whole thing was set up to try to make Blanco look like a 'take-charge-woman' instead of the boob that she is. That is why they got James Lee Witt in there ASAP to try to fix things behind the scenes. Too bad for them that Blanco is SO incompetent, that they wont be able to save her, and it WILL reflect poorly on any Democratic Woman running for President in 08.
The Democrats are circling the wagons around this broad, but to no avail.

The media has occasionally reported this blockade of Red cross without mentioning STATE FEMA.

how mean... down-right mean...You've never met Kathleen Blanco. One of her daughters is married to one of my old frat brothers. The entire family looks down their noses at the "common man". Imagine a female version of Judge Smails from Caddyshack. She's every bit as snobbish, and every bit as inept.
