WASHINGTON -- Ford Motor Co. on Wednesday recalled 3.8 million pickup trucks and sport utility vehicles for a cruise control switch suspected of causing engine fires. It is the fifth largest auto industry recall in U.S. history.

Ford said the recall of 1994-2002 model-year vehicles includes the company's hot-selling F-150 pickup truck, Ford Expedition, Lincoln Navigator and Ford Broncos. The company said it would start sending out recall notices to vehicle owners immediately.

I have driven to the left coast twice in the past 35 years because I was going to be there for a while and needed my vehicle. Next time I'll fly and steal a vehicle.

The farthest East I've been (in a plane) is Chicago and Indianapolis.

I'm a Westcoast kinda guy. ;)

You get around.

I've been to Mexico several times, to Hawaii once, to Canada once.

The rest of the time's been California and Oregon, except on a job in Ely, NV for a couple of months.

Used to go to Mexico a lot. Now Mexico is here so it has lost it's charm. I've been to Canada to hunt and fish a few times but haven't been in 10 years or so now. As for the west coast CA, OR, and WA were frequent business destinations for me in the 80's - mid 90's. Changed companies in 95 and travel strictly for fun now.

I haven't been to Mexico since the 70's ~ yep it has lost its charm.

I went in the 40's, 50's 60's and 70's.

In the 40's I was in high school in Coronado and we went to "T" Town a couple of times a month to get drunk and get laid. ;)

ok everyone, insert random "my ford_____ has xxx,000 miles on it"

and forget this is a problem that ford denied, denied, denied until they finally had the recall.

sorry about those houses that burned up

I'd rather have a broke Ford than a brand new Chevy.

Ditto my '99 SVT Lightning.

The biggest downside is that it does seem to draw the attention of LEO's....

Aren't these Ford hater's hilarious ~ sound just like the moonbats and their Bush bashing. :):)

I went to Montana back in the 90's to visit a buddy and his wife. I asked him why there so many Fords in Montana and hardly any other make ~ he said that "when we Montanans get way back in the uninhabited areas, we want to able to get home, so we drive Fords."
