Sen. Mary Landrieu threatened the president of the United States with physical violence on Sunday, saying that if he or any other government official criticizes New Orleans police for failing to keep civil order in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina - "I might likely have to punch him - literally."
"If one person criticizes [our sheriffs], or says one more thing, including the president of the United States, he will hear from me - one more word about it after this show airs and I - I might likely have to punch him - literally," Landrieu railed on "ABC's "This Week."
It is illegal to threaten the president with physical violence.
The Louisiana Democrat blasted Bush for neglecting the New Orleans levees, and demanded that he stop using the disaster for "photo-ops."
"The president came here yesterday for a photo-op," Landrieu charged, while surveying the disaster scene via helicopter with "This Week" host George Stephanopoulos in tow. "He got his photo-op but we are never going to get this fixed if he does not send us help now."
Landrieu also blamed Bush for cutting funding for levee improvement, before bursting into tears on camera.
In recent days, Louisiana officials have been criticized for bungling evacuation and rescue efforts. One of those officials, Lt. Gov. Mitch Landrieu, is Sen. Landrieu's brother.
Unfortunately, Bush is too decent to respond to this moron. As near as I can gather Bush hasn't criticized any person other that the sub-humans that wandered the streets killing and raping and looting. Oh, wait, Democrats, Harry Connick, Jr. and other liberals think that criticism is off limits as well.
The stress created by the storm simply brings to the surface the real divisions in this country. All the rhetorical devices in the world cannot cover them up.
Who ate my strawberries??
Two days ago, the New Orleans mayor was shouting about how the President shouldn't just fly over the area in Air Force One. Now the Senator is griping about him showing up on the ground for "photo ops". Both of them can go to hell and deal with the problems themselves if all they're going to do is complain about anything George Bush does.
Nah, let Mary and Kathleen hang themselves, crying attack after crying attack. Then expose them.
Wonder why Mary is acting so, well, over emotional?
Think about it, Mary is scared. Mary knows she and Kathleeen are gonna get it in spades.
I saw this silly little broad standing next to Louisiana's governor or somebody at a news conference last week. You could tell by the look on her face that she had no clue about a damned thing.
"Should I cry or just look like I'm ready to? I wonder what Oprah would advise?"
Efforts to politicize this thing are reprehensible. I don't care which side they're coming from.
Yes again the Demos sit and weight on others for service, and then blame all others of all kinds of things because there was no curtsy with the service.
I will respect your wishes in the future.
I just wrote the good Senator (sarc) but I didn't include the word slut. I told her to keep the worthless comments to herself and reminded her that he is the president and she is not.
Well, that would be one way to get rid of her.......let her punch away.
I coulda been a contanda I tell ya.
She is incompetnent, craven, sly, cunning, self serving,,,
I was just looking for what Landrieu had to say about Bob Livingston back when the Democrats set the odious Larry Flynt loose on him.
Haven't found it yet, but no doubt she said something ~ unless, of course, she was sleeping with Bob.
Anyway, all the levee problems would have been resolved with a Speaker of the House from Louisiana.
...you know, a "Party" type gal.
Time to switch fingers, Mary. HDh³
One more point..The Dems are gonna overplay their hand, screw this up, bigtime..remember the "Wellstone Memorial" fiasco?...This will be worse for them..
I saw your post #35 and you are right, my apologies...
Mod, can you delete my #16 post, please...
So why has the Secret Service not arrested her?
If this dolt touched the President, Laura Bush would whip her silly.
