You hadn't heard? Nagin said that he would be surpized to be target by the CIA because of the badmouthing he gave to the federal relief effort and President Bush. Yes, seriously, he said that.
Yep... right on the American Red Cross homepage. We aren't there because the local gov't doesn't want us there.
What do these people want? Bush just to break the law and do whatever he wants? He can't.
They want Bush to commit an impeachable unconstitutional act.
And after seeing what I have this week, I am going to spend a lot of time and effort doing everything I can to see that they get that opportunity for "career change". I use to be just frustrated. NOW they have made me angry.
As crazy as this may sound,I would like to know when is Nagin going to be required to take a drug test? Not the urine test, but the one where they test his hair.
"Meltdown" on TV never had a real meaning until I saw this guy; emotions complelely overcame this parish official, no doubt he's been through a lot but as a leader at least apprear in control. However, no doubt his constituents will never see this since they have no power or TV.
>He isn't trying to get the people out now. He's letting a bar open for regular business in the French Quarter - which is a total disregard fo rht e still-effective mandatory evacuation order.<
But, but, people got to get their Jones, don't you understand???
Ashley was off his game alright.......... after all he had spent the past few days picking out fabrics for his floor length window curtains.
The thought has crossed my mind in the past few days of watching CNN and the print media, that they have become an enemy of society.
The Dem party, and the MSM is but an arm of that, is over-reaching. That is going to cost them credibility, which in turn will cost them the ability to influence the public. I'd rather have it this way than have direct government control of the press.
;-)
It's clear this morning that the media is in a feeding frenzy. There is no placating such mob mentality. Chertoff was exactly right. We need to learn from this, go forward, and not get bogged down in political assassinations. There are major unheard stories from Mississippi and Alabama yet to come. The govt. can't afford to take it's eye off the ball now to refute politically motivated clap-trap. While all may be judged harshly for this past week's actions, those who drop the ball and whine now will lose the greater battle.
You can go into the bar business, and I'll buy stock in Home Depot and Lowe's. We'll both be rich! lol
Speaking of "meltdowns", what do you think of the way Geraldo was reporting from that convention center? I thought he was sincere but my husband immediately said "good acting!". It's hard to tell with that man, he is emotional but he's all about hype too.
What all these LSM folks seem to forget is that most of the coast of Miss was destroyed, too. While they didn't have the flooding - everything for miles was flattened. Haley Barbour said the damage went inland 150 miles. They don't want to interview Haley (R) or the Pubbie gov of Ala because they took notice, started evacuations, and started rescuing as soon as they could. Stark contrast in the leadership of Miss and Ala and the lack of it in LA.
BTW - both the Miss and Ala gov's said on Fri that FEMA has been in there from day 1 and doing a great job. The gov of Ala was looking at places in his state to bring evacuees from LA and Miss.
Are you kidding? The Black Caucus and Ms Nancy P. would of had a Bill of Impeachment on the floor the next day. "How dare the racist sexist cowboy Bush illegally run roughshod over the legal responsibilities of a Black Democrat Mayor and a White Female Governor! Bush has broke the law! Impeach him" You KNOW that they would of reacted this way. Bush is in a perfect Catch 22 Do it and catch hell from the Left. DON't do it, catch hell from the Left. See post 13 of this thread. The Truth IS starting to get out.
The old established/liberal/socialist media is America's most ruthless, relentless, and destructive enemy.

Maybe some cities and states shouldn't be allowed to have any local governance by law... the Feds should be able to take over direct control. That's what I'm learning from all this.
