Per CNN...
Yep. FOX is looping it. I guess they think viewers want to see Alan D. and Susan smacked down again. They'd actually be right. LOL
Not sure if they'll go live again or not with someone else. But I need to go to bed so I'll see everyone tomorrow. pray for the President for the burdens he carries, pray for the Republicans to stand FIRM, pray for the Justices selected to bear up to the pressure brought against, and of course for those hit by the hurricane still.
God Bless Rhenquist for the good man and Justice he was. God Bless his soul.
she doesn't know that God is with him(GWB).
Well, it'll take a few years for the true story to come out, I expect - but we'll see. Go read about the last few months of Thurgood Marshall, for example. Apparently, my dog would have better comprehended day-to-day Court activities.
I think Rehnquist should have been packing up his desk right after the Inauguration. Cocooned, ivory-tower, deathgrip-on-the-bench Supes may not be best for our country; keep 'em hard to remove, but set a mandatory retirement age.
As long as he/she is qualified, and doesn't legislate from the bench, the nominee could be "clear" and have my approval.
Ditto that. Strongly.
A mandatory retirement age would encourage Presidents to nominate as young a Justice as possible possibly to the detriment of qualifications. One 12 year Term limit is better.
Well, that's daffy.
But the joke was on you; I messed with their minds and they issued your badge upside-down.
Muhahhahhahhahhah.
OK Freepers, time to get back to the nitty gritty and post The Roberts page. Refresher Course. Be prepared.

Also to keep up with the stories as they come (Ooh, the Old Grey Wh*** already has a Roberts bashing story for today):

Is this true? Or just a leftists' dream?
Do yourself a favor. Check out the "Great One", Levin, from 6-8 (EST) weekdays on wabcradio.com He's FANTASTIC, he's also a fellow FReeper!
lol..........I think he could win. At least he DID something.
We could find a Black conservative Judge and ask her if she would do us a favor and change her religious preference to Jewish. She does not have to change her eating habits, but I could show her how to make a mean Chicken and Matzoh ball soup that she could tell everyone was Chicken and Dumplings. It has worked for me when I have served it to real southern Country Folk.
OMG..ROFLMAO!!!!!!!!!! I should have done that with my ex bf. He wouldn't go near the soup.
I know. I'm thinking about sending the following message to the White House -
Dear Karl;
I just wanted you to know that I really appreciate all the hard work you're doing keeping the profits rolling in at Halliburton and making sure the blacks stay under our heels, but I think you're kind of overdoing it now. My head's starting to hurt trying to keep up with what's supposed to distract from what.
I'll admit the hurricane was a very inspired idea, even if those pesky blacks foiled the plan by eating corpses to stay alive. But still, it gave Big Oil an excuse to jack up the prices again, and Halliburton got yet anothert fat reconstruction contract, so two out of thee ain't bad, I guess.
But offing the Chief Justice really reeks of overkill, if you'll pardon the pun. Cindy Sheehan was already fading into obscurity thanks to the hurricane (BTW, can I borrow the machine next weekend? I think I figured out how to tweak it so the next hurricane won't miss Broward County, and I've been itching to give that place an enema for the longest time), so it really was just a bit much, and Rehnquist seemed like a nice guy. Oh, and a word of advice - get rid of the pillow before you're seen sneaking out of the house next time, okay? It just looks better for all of us.
FRegards;

I'm glad the repeated it. I missed Napalatano's stupid comment about how Bush had a chance to frame the court now in his image in a way his father didn't.
His father got to appoint two justices. He got one right, then gave us Souter.
Clinton was two for two with his picks (for his side).
So far, even if Bush could simple install his two favorite picks, it wouldn't change the court that much. O'Conner was only wrong half the time, and Rehnquist was rarely wrong.
Bush will need a third pick to really shape the court.
"wouldnt you rather see cheif justice ann coulter...might spark a younger crowd to the scotus"
maybe she could show up in a mini-skirt. that would cause Stevens to finally kick the bucket with a heart attack I would think.
Probably wouldn't affect Souter much, though.
He's one of the best talk show hosts in the country, second behind RUSH IMO. On wabcradio.com weekdays from 6-8 (EST). Also a fellow FReeper. There's also a daily thread here for his show.
:(
God Rest his Soul. RIP
