2 teams of Delta Force operators have been dropped into New Orleans. Hopefully this will make the MSM news. Sounds like the heavy guns have come to help.
Thanks God...those people need help now!
The law enforcement aspect is important, unleashing SOCOM on US citizens is not likely.
There are probably 100 LEO SWAT/TRT organizations in the US that operate on the water regularly, they would be a far more appropriate choice.
If they wanted secrecy, I'd hope they'd be better trained than to call their relatives to say they've been deployed.
I also doubt they'd be deployed during daylight.
This entire article sounds like BS.

He should tell his brother to read up on OPSEC :P
Att'sa a rog!
yeah, right! Shouldn't post this crap without sources.
Secrecy wouldn't be appropriate in this situation -- it should be widely advertised that Nawlins is about to be visited by a team with a License to Kill.
Exactly. What's next, an article (rumor) stating that a squadron of B52's has taken off to carpet bomb Bourbon Street? I can see the special operations forces which compose "Delta Force" being pulled together and dispatched in a nuclear blackmail or other "24 Hours" like scenario (with an executive order suspending posse commitatus) but riots and looting in an American city?
actually, it should be titled
2 teams of Delta Force operators have been dropped into "Holy City" of New Orleans.
I wonder why no Delta teams have been dropped in Metairie or Kenner?
Posse Comitatus gets winked at in cases of urgency. I was an Air Force Security policeman at NORAD some 20 years ago. We received calls of gunshots on the Cheyenne Mountain access road. We went to check it out and figured there were some poachers hunting on the private property that lined the road. We called up El Paso County Sherriff and a deputy came up to check it out. While we were standing there a couple of shots were fired and the bullets whizzed by us. We hit the dirt and the deputy took us with him to go flush out the poachers. It was the only time I ever got shot at in the military! When the deputy told us to come with him, we said we couldn't because of Posse Comitatus. He let us know in no uncertain terms that we were to come with him. When the bullets are flying, you worry about the rules after you deal with the threat.
They are generally a stealth force. Announcing that they are moving through the city seems like a way to get them shot at.
A non-existent elite NG unit is more likey than the Delta Force in a situation like this. Honestly, I think they are probably SWAT or SWAT-like (like NYPD's ESU teams) from other cities and states.

I hope this doesn't turn into another black hawk down episode!
Just kidding! Sorry!
Kick arse boys!!!
Don't speak too soon! Those idiots there have taken shots at rescue helicopters! It doesn't take much to bring one down, especially when they're outfitted for humanitarian missions.
Stay tuned.
Delta Force? New Orleans? Smells Punny to me.
I have been bombed on Bourbon street a few times. Don't know about B-52's though.
