What the hell? Why would any idiot start firing on choppers? I even took pause here to see if I could discern any possible benefit for the shooter, and I came up empty. Such an action could only make things worse for the shooter. I don't get this at all.

I trust the horrific irony of this is not lost on us. While thousands of our brave men and women are parked in the Iraqi desert, dodging car bombs, rockets and trying to subdue the vermin who make them, we have a similar rabble causing mayhem on our own shores. They should not now, nor ever have been in Iraq. They should be in downtown NO, weeding out the detritus intent on totally destroying an already desperate situation.
Before we bring order to Baghdad, we need to bring it to the United States.

The reason it took Blanco and the mayor so long to respond was because it was THEIR CONSTITUENTS that were doing the looting.
A somewhat tongue-in-cheek dissent: perhaps some of the citizenry of Houston came to New Orleans to stop the transfer of the abomination to there.
