Life imitating art. New Orleans right now, is a scene taken right out of "Escape from New York".

I trust the horrific irony of this is not lost on us. While thousands of our brave men and women are parked in the Iraqi desert, dodging car bombs, rockets and trying to subdue the vermin who make them, we have a similar rabble causing mayhem on our own shores. They should not now, nor ever have been in Iraq. They should be in downtown NO, weeding out the detritus intent on totally destroying an already desperate situation.

Before we bring order to Baghdad, we need to bring it to the United States.

The fabric of this country has corroded from within. It is rotten and is held together only by a steady supply of hamburgers, gasoline and basic amenities. Remove these things and we instantly morph into the worst savages.

Before this is all done and dusted, the worst and enduring humiliation will not be the natural havoc wreaked by Katrina. It will the inhuman destruction wrought in its aftermath by the ghouls whom the waters exposed.

I realize that marshmallows are all soft (and sometimes yellow) on the inside ("They should not now, nor ever have been in Iraq.") so there is no point in telling you that failing to fight terrorism so our fighting soldiers can sit around and wait for a Category Five Hurricane is obtuse and short-sighted.

I think of God's judgement on America. We deserve it, unhappily.
