I don't remember hearing reports of looting after the tsunami.
To: TomGuy
Probably stole them while looting at stores that carry them.

Where is the MAYOR & GOVERNOR?! Blanco said last night that she was "furious" and she wasn't going to "stand for it".My guess is that they're both out of harm's way -- although Baton Rouge has also experienced looting/rioting, it's safer than NO for the dem darlings.
Blanco: "It wasn't supposed to be this way" (stamping foot) -- "you're our constituents, and we've done everything we can to keep you helpless and victimized -- where's the gratitude?" (end translation).
As for Landreau, she was positively salivating over all the federal money she saw coming her way (read re-election) as a result of the storm; and you can bet she'll blame everything, including the animalistic behavior of her constituents, on the federal gov't. She was/is positively nauseating.

The Mayor and Police Chief sleeping in this morning?
the governor needs to be criminally prosecuted, the mayor needs to be thrown in jail as a public nuisance

I realize that marshmallows are all soft (and sometimes yellow) on the inside ("They should not now, nor ever have been in Iraq.") so there is no point in telling you that failing to fight terrorism so our fighting soldiers can sit around and wait for a Category Five Hurricane is obtuse and short-sighted.
Are you a militiary member ready to help and if not, why not?

I hear 'ya, but I wouldn't punish the good for the sins of the bad. I don't see much good.
Besides, where would you send the thugs? Don't send them to Florida.
Before the hurricane, New Orleans was a high crime city. It is incredible these retards did not know that many CHOSE to stay behind. They WANTED to be there after the storm just so they could loot. There is no excuse for law enforcement not to be in place. The mayor should be dropped off at the dome and left to fend for himself.

"You have got to be kidding! Good Lord this is getting awful. They need to start shooting back. Kill one thug and the message gets to thousands."
I think we will shortly see our brave politicians in Washington using this disaster as an excuse for the disarming of the American public. Wait and see.

I live in Houston and I just hope and pray that we are able to keep the situation under control once all these folks get here.

This thread is quite likely to be pulled shortly because I can't quite remove all the racist and "nuke the city" comments as fast you're making them.
To: ChadGore
Prediction: The appeasement, isolationist, left will attempt to justify this shooting. Of course they will.
The Rev. Al and Jesse Jackass will use this to explain what happens when people are oppressed...blah..blah....blah.
To: shadowman99
It'll cost more to rebuild there than to start from scratch elsewhere, plus it's just an idiotic location for a city. Evacuate the innocents and then burn it all down. Scratch gang terrorists and disease at the same time.

Hear! Hear! These poor folks are in dire staights, none of us are facing what they are.
To: SWAMPSNIPER
No way, they are urban rats. Please, take care who you insult!
No offense was meant toward the good swamp bushwackers out there. I was intimating that New Orleans is now a swamp and these savage fools are no better than rats.

NO is an exception for reconstruction. The city should not be rebuilt simpky because it is foolish to build a city below sea level. And it won't be rebuilt while these thugs are running the streets. No one tried to preserve law and order before hand and no one is trying to do that now. They are shooting at the rescuers. No one is trying to stop it. Not the local residents, not the police and the National Guard isn't even in there yet.
I'm in FL and I have had to evacuate because of storms. What is going on in NO is a prime example of why you need to get out. I was worried what would happen to my home and if I'd even have a job because where I work is right on the water. The storms are only a part of the problem. It's surviving the aftermath. You must be prepared as best you can. After a storm, you must assume no one will be there to help you and that's exactly what's happening in NO.

This not a big surprise to me unfortunately. NO has been run by thugs for years. This *is* the outcome of social engineering
It is no surprise to me. I am a Vietnam Vet, my son is in Iraq, and this is the country we fought for and are fighting for. I see no point in serving to protect the country when citizens are not even protected here. My family has served in many wars for this country but if I have any say we will not fight any more and be opposed at home and half the country wanting the US to fall. I don't think this will stop with NO unless the government takes a hard stand and that does not seem to be forthcoming. The war is here and will come just as unexpectedly as this crises.

I don't know about that...walking on hot pavement that is perhaps in the 85 degrees with extreme high humidity and no drinking water, along with carrying children, elderly or even worse, sick family members, would make it an impossible journey! Be realistic please, I know we are all upset and angry, rightfully so, at the looters and those shooting at rescuers, but NOT all the folk there are low life. So we can't throw them in the barrel with the rotten ones. Some are good decent, law abiding, hard working folk. Pray for them instead!
To: Dont_Tread_On_Me_888
People like you disgust me. Instead of thinking logically (there but for the grace of God go I and my city), you demand destruction of a place that has many more decent people living in it than there are vermin like these. Trust me, every city in the US has the same element living in it, waiting for an opportunity like this disaster to make their move.
