Reports are the pipelines from LA to AL,MS,GA,NC,VA, all the way to NY are at very low capacity. Is you area out of gas yet or being rationed? What are you hearing? This will be very helpful for those who are traveling in the near future.
Same gas station:
Sun - 2.45
Mon - 2.59
Tue - 2.69
Wed - 2.79
Thu - Who the hell knows!! 5.00?
Some places it is panic. Here in Austin I think it is more of a "get before it goes up higher" mode. I don't get the sense here that most folks in this area think we are on the verge of running out. They just don't want to pay higher prices. Whereas in other places they might really be running out.
I live near chicago. Gas 3.19 in Lake county. Word is getting out. I'm starting to see lines at gas stations
Hit post too soon. $2.70 something in eastern WA as of this afternoon, may have gone higher since I was out. I suspect it will go higher then this if it hasn't already until people calm down and stop panicing.
You must be under 35. You don't remember "odd/even" rationing in 1974?
Really???
Quite frankly, your comment is idiotic.
Looters are thieves who steal the property of others.
So, in your warped view, people who actually pay money to buy a product are WORSE than people who damage property and steal it?
WTF are you talking about?
Are you a democrat?
The media isn't helping... they need to tell people not to panick and stop topping off. Sheez this will be a huge problem in a couple of days doing this...shades of the Carter years. *sigh*
I use Beano.
The media rarely helps anything. A poster earlier said their station wasn't mentioning it. Frankly, that is probably a good thing. Talk about it and more people will show up at the stations. It will work out in a few days.
Wasilla AK: 2.64/gal. for regular today.
North Central Pa.
Sun. reg@2.56
this morning reg@2.86
this evening reg @ 3.21
no lines, no stations out of gas.
Jumped almost 1 buck from 9 am to 3 pm. 3.50 a gallon
In WA, only up about .15 or so, also. (I think 2.77 for Plus today.)
On Jan 1, 2005 the NYMEX price of crude was $43.40 per bbl. Today it closed just in under $69 per bbl. Since the prices have climbed 58% since Jan 1, does that mean that there is 58% less crude available today?
St. Louis, Missouri - $.60 in the last 24 hours.
We, the people, would be demanding that the Pentagon take over w/Marshal Law. FEMA just lost all credibility.
The Army Nat'l Guard would take over the interstate highways, and only let through food and power-repair trucks. They would commandeer gas stations and use generators to pump gas for the food trucks.
All surgeons under a certain age, by law, would be immediately drafted. (All surgeons know this.)
Reno is at $2.85 atm. Up 0.10 since monday.
Western Pennsylvania: Filled up the clunker at $2.49 Monday night. Last night, it was $2.59. Driving home from work, $2.69. Took the kid out for a school supply run this evening, the Get-Go was already at $2.99. Stopped at the neighborhood Citgo on the way home and paid $2.85 to top-off.
white castle double jalapeno cheeseburgers: gas is free
