President Bush: "We are dealing with one of the worst national disasters in our nation's history." Push has appropriated vast federal resources to assist with the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
78,000 people are currently in shelters. New Orleans evacuation continues. 10,000 additional National Guard troops have been called to service.
Hospitals are running low on supplies, and public health concerns include water borne disease, poor sanitation, food and drinking water contamination and shortages, mosquitoes, carbon monixide poisoning from electricity generators, lack of childcare, and the special needs of the elderly.

Tropical Storm 12
I am beginning to think they are all in cahoots and will do everything to see the witch elected.
Precisely. Torture. :-)
ROTFLMAO!!! Just another channel surfer here, who holds to her own opinions and not what Fox, CNN, or MSNBC feeds me...
My letter:
The Situation room
I have been enjoying this show but will not watch it anymore until you get rid of Jack Cafferty. I always heard CNN had a political bias and didn't want to believe it but now I have seen it with my own eyes. I have been watching this story since the storm developed in the Gulf. I watched as the Hurricane Center called the officials in New Orleans and told them 48 hours in advance to evacuate and they sat on their hands. It took them at least another 24 hours to issue a mandatory evacuation. They know their city better than anyone. If people were too poor to get out they should have supplied them with busses to a safe haven. They didn't even have a curfew until late Saturday. And now according to Jack Cafferty this is all Bush's fault? You lost me as a viewer.
I'm struggling not to hate Liberals. I really am. A natural disaster and they care about politics over lives. they truly have no humanity left.
As for TV I mostly watch Fox ... and some CNN ... a tiny bit of MSNBC.
TURN IT OFF! TURN IT OFF! Before you kick your TV set it! What else do you expect from a Wolf Blitzer show!
What we need is more cowbell.
I guess by getting the people out of there. I don't think killing everybody is the answer, that's for sure.
No, what we need is more gunfire. Coming from the good guys directed at the bad guys.
So the guy says to the doctor, "It hurts when I do this."
They are basically painting a picture that no food or water is getting to the crowds. The video is very damning and will make Bush look like he sat on his hands instead of helping.
I also don't understand why they can't just drop some water on these folks. If they can drive buses in they sure can drive water in, what the hell?
I'm starting to turn blue ;)
Thank you very much. Will check it out and pass it along.
We are in a flame war, you hear?
You are not supposed to make me laugh!!
Why isn't the American Red Cross there NOW?
Are talking about the Astrodome already?
I was just kidding. I actually have watched much more of CNN than I usually do, their coverage has been good, their editorializing rotten as usual.
They do have quite an agenda though, but the Fox guys seem to be acting a little weird themselves (not talking about Shep, he was always weird, LOL.)
