It is with heavy heart I write this...
I have finally reconnected with my best friend who is a paramedic who was sent from Georgia 2 days ago to Gulf Port, Mississippi before the hurricane hit.
He just reached me within the last 10 mins via emergency cell phone to tell me he was alive.
Thousands of bodies have been discovered throughout Mississippi in Gulf Port, Waveland,Hancock County,Bay of St.Louis.
They are hanging in trees and they are pulling them out 30 at a time. Entire families found drowned in their homes and washing up on shore.
The stories he could tell me were brief. National Guard is on the scene and arresting anyone seen on the streets.
The numbers are staggering and what I have been told tonight will shake people to their foundation as the numbers will be coming out in the next 24-hours of just how many people have actually perished in these and 3 other beach communities.
More to follow....
This planet is going to get a lot tougher such sermons from God Himself.
Some will learn something from them.
Some won't.
I'm just hoping that it's not as bad as some of the awful things we are hearing, I'm not trying to discredit anyone.
That says "hundreds"...doesn't confirm MFH's wild claim of "thousands".
If they were long dead they probably wouldn't float.
Plus they would be buried, concrete enclosures are usually required.
No, I am thinking a cemetary wouldn't contribute much to the floating dead count...
Despite the rock throwers, you done good.

"It's going to be much higher than anything we've ever seen," said Jim Pollard, spokesperson for the Harrison County Emergency Management Agency.
Public officials were skittish about relaying fatality numbers because firefighters, other emergency workers and even volunteers navigated mountains of debris Tuesday, finding bodies all along the waterfront.
I suggest you read my post 1347. I am not going to bother posting the article seperately because I think this thread already makes the point. If they are skittish about reporting casualty figures but freely admit it's in the hundereds, it wouldn't suprise me to see 1000 or more people dead.
Your charitable comment is impressive.
I suppose you also call it consistent with your construction on reality?
Actually I heard from a FEMA emergency manager, in the floods in the southeast a few years ago (I can't remember which hurricane), she says that they reported different numbers of dead intentionally so that the count was much lower than actual count.
He alsoe said whole families were washing up on the beach too...is a beach not in plain sight?
Just so you know, I worked for AT&T Wireless as a network tech for 5 years. Many celltowers have generators and all have battery back-up. When an emergency is declared, the normal phone lines are blocked and only phones desgnated as "emergency" will work on any channels. These phones are given out to supervisors of rescue teams in situations like this. As My Favorite Headache said her friend was an paramedic so it's quite resonable for him to have a working cell. Also, many towers can transmit tower-to-tower in the event landlines are cut.
You know what? I am simply not going to spend my day posting to you. I did my "more to follow" when he had CELL PHONE SIGNAL you idiot.
It's not like they are able to sit and have party line conversations all day. Signal is dropping in and out and he is there on-scene working and doing his job.
Not sitting on a phone doing play-by-play for you and the few doubters as each body is discovered and tagged. Why is it impossible for you to reason these simple facts out?
God bless you for your thoughtfulness.
However, your clothing will likely be thrown away. Charities simply can't deal with sorting and distributing clothing in a catastrophe like this. The Salvation Army said they were overwhelmed with clothing during the four hurricanes in Florida last year, and they simply stored the stuff in warehouses, then threw it all away.
Charities need money to buy gift cards or to buy food or specific items of clothing for specific people.
Your heart's in the right place, but, please, give your clothing to Goodwill or one of your local charities for people in your community.
"No one sane posts something like this for fame."
Why does the phrase "begging the question" suddenly come to mind?
Could you be more specific ... is your thank you being extended because you were correctly identified as

or both?
Uh it says hundreds, and in the next breath says that "public officials were skittish about relaying fatality numbers." So you can pretty much figure hundreds is going to be on the low end.
"W saved a whole lot of lives that day while the governors were twiddling their thumbs!!"
Hey I didn't know this. Is it actually true that W told them to evacuate before their own officials? Do you have a credible link? Sorry if I seem skeptical - I love W, don't get me wrong - but its a rare day when any president shines so bright. If you don't have something I'll find it, no problem. Thanks.
"I suppose you also call it consistent with your construction on reality?"
English, repeat in English...
I get sick to death of people choosing death over life.

What does she expect the response of some crazed men to be?Is she really wearing a miniskirt so people will notice her personality and job/social skills and IQ?
