Something here doesn't smell right. Why would anyone want to loot a hospital? Kinda hard to do with all those people around. Doctors and nurses and other staff.

In the autobiography of former Surgeon General C. Everett Koop, he describes how he used to work at the Philadelphia Children's Hospital. One day as he was preparing for surgery he heard that they were out of scalpels. Upon investigating he found out that the hospital was being robbed blind by the employees. He and some other doctors had all the exits to the hospital sealed except for one and set up guard there. Soon employees leaving work were seen approaching the exit carrying large bags. When they saw what was up they turned around. Now that it was established that the thefts would no longer be tolerated the problem was greatly diminished.
Druggies, without their fix for awhile now...

Because it's there. Because it's vulnerable. Because they can.

Yeah, how do they know they are "looters"? Are these people standing outside yelling, "let us in so we can LOOT your building"? Maybe they are seeking shelter, there is literally nowhere to go - even the "shelters" are being evacuated. Why is everyone outside automatically a "looter"?
BTW, thw NG can definitely mobilize in 24 hours, much less than that if need be. I can remember several instances when my ex left our bed to go on duty at odd hours during bad weather, as the hurricanes/floods were happening. The whole situation in NO appears absolutely dreadful.

No meaning to offend but you must lead a sheltered life....there are people out there that are nothing short of animals....hospitals have drugs....drugs equal quick high and money....
They are not afraid of the doctors and nurses....would kill them to get what they want....
To give you an idea of the magnitude of thier determination and "evilness", two attacked a NO police station last night with rifles described by the press as AK-47's....Yes, they were not being pursued by the police, they intentionally attacked a police station ala Bagdad style.....
