Supporters overshadow protest by radical group

The message they brought was hate.

The words they used meant to hurt.

But the answer they got was 'we don't,' and 'not here.'

A protest on Sunday by a group of religious extremist who used the funeral of a soldier killed in Iraq as a platform for their vitriolic anti-homosexual and anti-military message, prompted a spontaneous counter-protest by Morgan County residents

.........this group survived by causing attacks and then suing - possibly this is the agenda in all of these funeral protests. Incite the pro-war supporters into attacking them and then suing with the help of the ACLU.

I didn't know that, but judging by their signs it looks that way. Those are hateful enough to cause some type of reaction.

Yes, we should be dignified and support our troups, and more of us do than don't. I think that if I saw those signs somewhere close to where I live, I would be very irritated, but I think I would control myself.......maybe....hope so! ;)

For those not familar with central Indiana. If your going to protest the military or degrade a soldier's funeral, you would do well NOT to pick Martinsville as your target.

Even if you despise acts of war why would you drag the american flag in the dirt and on the ground? That doesn't make sense.

ThePhelps pigs claim to believe that this country is so far gone because we don't all hate homosexuals with every fiber of our being, that God hates us and therefore they should, as God's servants, denigrate the United States.

Now I'm not saying I've led a perfect life, but I'd hate to be them when the "What you did to the least of these" stuff comes up, and it's like "You went to my funeral and said I was in Hell because I endorsed homosexual behavior."

For a long time I figured they're plants. Make the fundies look bad and all that. The problem is, if it's an act, they are good actors, and Fred Phelps started acting looney decades ago as a cover--The wikipedia entry on him mentions him barelyt escaping going to trial for punching an infant during one of his "sermons" 20 or 30 years ago.

So, I figure they're probably real. If people can look into the Bible and figure that God is enthusiastic about them having anal sex every night, I guess that loneys on the other end of the spectrum aren't that surprising.

Their main source of income is suing people who attack them and the city where the attack occurred because they didn't provide protection. They provoke attack by doing just what they do.

Holding a protest in a park or something would be one thing. But at a funeral...if I were the judge and the case came before me, I'd say, "I've got three words for you: Fighting words exception. Look it up."
