Extremely dangerous Hurricane Katrina is bearing down on the North Central Gulf of Mexico and New Orleans metro area. Thousands of people did not evacuate New Orleans. Outer bands of Katrina are reaching the Louisiana coast.
Due to the size and intensity of this storm, all interests in the North Gulf of Mexico should be in their safe locations.

let me tell y'all, I am in Islamorada in the Fla Keys and we got enough of this momma the other night with tropical storm winds. This storm has been a mess from the get-go and the forecasters really screwed up their initial projections, leaving most of us here caught with our shutters off and no preparation to speak of. Luckily it didn't give us a direct hit but I feel such a hopeless feeling for these poor people in the path. They have nooooooo idea what they are in for. After I see what this storm does I may be moving to Cleveland.

Jackie is back on. She is the most lovely woman with the most upbeat attitude. Bless her. I wish more folks were like her.
Doesn't the eye look like an outie belly button ?!?
This lady that Jeff keeps interviewing needs her own show..she is a hoot...not a complaint from her, OH, NO!...
Jackie is her name...she is a terrific sounding lady!!
They always say that if you're taking shelter from a tornado you shouldn't be anywhere there is a large span roof . . . the wind speeds might not be as high as tornados in this case, but will last much, much longer!
"All that was missing from his opening statement was a mention of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse."
"LMAO"
LMAO, I'm not. Many of gods people will die tonight, it is the most somber of times.
Lurker
This "Jackie" woman has an incredible attitude. I hope she comes out of this okay. All of them actually, but the human interest stories always tug at you a little harder.
Look I agree for years when crude was at fourteen or fifteen dollars a barrel and the oil companies needed twenty to even make any profit that the consumer was very lucky. I also, feel that even with the prices that we have today that fuel is still a pretty good bargin.
BTW I come from a long line of oil people, starting with my Grandfather who owned an oil lease at Nocona, Texas, in the early part of the century. My brother was a VP with Phillips, and one of our boys bought jet fuel for FED EX, so I am not totally unsympatic.
Wouldn't you THINK that they would have a doctors and meds at the Superdome????? I mean, COME ON!
they don't even search people like this when they enter the superdome - for the Super Bowl itself. I can see bag searches, but frisking them too? no wonder it is taking so long to get them in there, these poor people must be collapsing from standing there for hours.
There are millions and millions of people like her across the USA. They are the people who make us a great nation.
The street cam at Fat Harry's is still on. NOt very windy either.
Isn't that poster up north in Ascension?
Jackie asked the reporter more than once to hold her scissors.ROFL.
"He had NO IDEA WHO SHEP WAS!!!"
Either that, or he didn't understand what you were saying.
Matthews is trying to put himself in the story at every opportunity - HE was at the convention when Bush's father yada yada
