Extremely dangerous Hurricane Katrina is bearing down on the North Central Gulf of Mexico and New Orleans metro area. Thousands of people did not evacuate New Orleans. Outer bands of Katrina are reaching the Louisiana coast.
Due to the size and intensity of this storm, all interests in the North Gulf of Mexico should be in their safe locations.

I heard the tail end of that. The mayor sounds like a rather dim bulb also.
Golf carts?
hGood reason though; people hear the winds are dropping and they'll say Oh ok, no danger.
I thought the woest case was for the eye to pass West of the city center, driving the sea surge into the big lake and pushing lake water Northwest, which would then drain Southeast into the city center, and pushing water due South, overcoming the lakeside levees.
Ouch. (putting it lightly.)
paid $2.59 this morning in Arizona.
Jeff Goldblatt (sp?) is the guy at the dome, If I remember correctly.
Those are not the United States government responsibility, FGS.
And the sad thing is, I've turned on cable all day long wondering what exactly was happening "right now."
If there weren't a market for live, on location news, I don't think these reporters would be so eager to risk their lives.
I think he meant suites, not sweets.....
"He also had a report of an off shore rig with a reading of 215 mph before the instrumentation and pump were blown off."
Holy cow!
Those sure are very strong winds.
Oh, and Landrieu went on a long spiel telling Matthews how important Louisiana was in producing energy to the nation, and she sure hoped the Federal Government would provide what was needed. No mention from her of how involved Bush has already been.
It was more in the tone of his report, mentioning that the podium where he made the speech from had the official seal and trying to stay in front of the hurricane's effects.
yeah but you can walk from one end of avalon to the other in 7 minutes and out to pepple in ten you don't need a car or golf cart unless your going to the crashport in tne sky or two harbours and if your own a boat your rich anyways
How can you watch him??

The whackos just frustrate the heck out of me . . . it's like they don't WANT a solution; "No, we can't drill in ANWAR, but NO, we shouldn't be buying from other countries either . . . " but then I guess if there was actually a solution, they wouldn't have a cause anymore, would they?
He was talking about the luxury "suites"! Not sweets! You all had me thinking they were handing out Hershey bars or something. I guess that would be a point of contention. Who gets the luxury boxes and who has to sleep in the seats?
A mess...
Sort of like Homer Simpson does.
That's what happens when you don't read the lyrics on the album.
