Wow. What a monster. The size is overwhelming. They call the real big ones 'Super Typhoons' in the Pacific. Do they call the monsters 'Super Hurricanes' in the Atlantic.

Wow, I went to bed at 1:00 AM and this thing had 115mph winds, I got up at 6:30 and its up to 160mph already.

And MSNBC still has that damned "Headliners and Legends" on. Lets hope the Chinese never launch a Nuclear attack on a Sunday, because those who watch MSNBC would'nt know what happened untill Monday.

I thought the only people, barring a few others, who watch MSNBC are diehard leftists.

When FOX has its stupid crap on, I usually switch to MSNBC. Usually they both have that Aruba story on though and im out of luck anyway.

Have just taken a look at Bourbon St. live cam. No one but junkie-types: longhairs, mohawks loitering about.
Goodbye street people, goodbye, goodbye.

To be honest, I prefer to get my news off the web, like FR for example, with Foxnews being second.

This monster was head straight at us in Boca and then veared South at the very last minute. It devastated those who didn't take it seriously even as a Cat 1. We STILL have family without power in Broward.
I can't imagine what it will do to NO. This is truly a terrifying storm.

Thanks for updating the title to indicate the hurricane has graduated to category five status -- was just about to fire off a private message.

You are welcome.
This is bad news for the entire Gulf Coast. Prayers up.

N.O. is 6 ft below sea level.
The storm surge is said to be 20-25 ft above sea level. Add in 160 mph winds and waves that are 10 ft high.
We are talking about the height of a 4 story building.
