Rally Eve has arrived, and things are really looking good for the event in Crawford tomorrow. An awful lot of preparation has gone into trying to make this event very worthwhile and well run.
Some of us will be at the rally site by 9AM. If others are coming early, you are invited to come on by our rally site, and lend a hand in last minute preparations. Whatever time you come, use lots of sunscreen, bring a good supply of water, and wear a sun hat , The weather is predicted to be well over 100 degrees, with high humidity. There will be big fans set up to at least stir the air a bit, but be prepared to be hot. It is, after all, August in Texas.
Once again, here is where to find us: We will be at the Community Center, which is next to the Crawford High School football stadium, on East 4th Street. Freepers and friends who are already on site will be placing directional signs around Crawford, guiding folks to our site. Of course, there's always the possibility that these signs will be removed or destroyed by the other side--but we are trying to make it easy for everyone to find our event.
At this point, we have no idea how many will show up, of course. I've seen all sorts of estimates---but from experience, I know these estimates are always hugely overblown. However many show up is how many we will have is my best estimate--LOL!
We have an excellent lineup of speakers--most of whom are family of active duty service men and women in the Middle East now, and we have at least one man who will speak, who did at least one tour in Iraq himself, but who, sadly, buried his twin brother in June--the victim of a gun battle between US Forces and the terrorists.
A group of firemen will be cooking and serving Barbequed brisket and sausage on the grounds. We are asking for a freewill donation to cover the firemen's cost when you get your barbeque.
Angelwood has provided us with some of her wonderful Freeper buttons to pass around, and freeper W04 (I can't remember all of his name--will look it up and add it later), has sent some excellent, very large banners that we hope to be able to put across the front of the stage.
Kristinn has been in Crawford since Wednesday, making all the important arrangements for procurring all things necessary for putting on a rally of this magnitude. Doctor Raoul will once again be joining us.
Hope to meet and greet a whole lot of Freepers tomorrow!
EAGLES UP!
I will pray and PRAY for the success of this righteous venture!!
God be with you all, AND GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS!!!
I will be there in Spirit and support your activities 1000%. Way to sustain this thing...that is exactly what is needed!
When I go out I've got 6 sets. nothing worse than running out.
May God bless your efforts. I will be thinking of you.
Instead of driving down with the caravan, I might just come down in the morning to help out ahead of time.
Has anyone made any FReeper camp roadsigns to help with the map-challenged among us? And is anyone bringing a laptop or something with the capability to send some near-real time photos back here to the FReepers wanting to monitor events??
Just thinking aloud.
I wish I could make it there sounds like its going to be a great time! I'm there in spirit though! I'm Jealous about the Firemen Barbecue! Whooo HOOOO! Sounds great!
Godspeed y'all - I'm there in spirit
My heart is always in Texas but will be with you this weekend. God bless you all and take lots of water.
BTTT!!!!!!
Keep in mind that we will be in an area where cell phone coverage is at best, spotty. There will be no way to hook up a computer that I know of.
Oh. Well, I guess my post is a good example of a computer-challenged mom trying to pose an intelligent question. I'mm going to leave this one to the experts. :)
Land of The Free because of The Brave!
Priceless! I'd love to see it on our Flag, in our schools, on our currency, on our firearms, etc. That very statement allows Cindy and all her recent camrades their freedom - they cannot dispute it! They use the freedom fought for but condemn where it came from.
God Bless all you freepers and our FreeperFather, Jim, truly the cream of USA - despite your present conditions, are forging ahead leaving your cares aside for all of us. Goosebumps, indeed.
Prayers for God's favor hail from NY.
Crawford as in many other small towns does not have the ability to provide services, such as for trash and clean up. Everyone needs to be sure to take their trash home with them.
As we were taught in the Boy Scouts, you want to leave a place in better condition than when you arrived. If this means picking up some of the Cindy trash, then the better for everyone.
Don't you think it will be interesting to see Sharpton AND David Duke and friends there on the SAME side of an issue?
You have FReep mail.
Great photo...I'm using it as my computer screen saver.
That is a very thoughtful and good idea about the trash...
and I will also make a suggestion.
Spend $$$$$--go to the Gift shop that is by Fort Qualls...because the guy that owns it is VERY upset about Cindy...and is a friend of Dubyas!!!
Besides, the best way to pay Crawford back is to spend money the town, but NOT take advantage of the citizens.
I heard one woman that said that some of Cindy's followers had the gaul to ask to not only use her toilet, but her SHOWER!!! She is just a resident, not a participant!
Print it, email it, use it however you want. That's what it's for!
:-)

She should have offered to turn the hose on them.
