Rally Eve has arrived, and things are really looking good for the event in Crawford tomorrow. An awful lot of preparation has gone into trying to make this event very worthwhile and well run.
Some of us will be at the rally site by 9AM. If others are coming early, you are invited to come on by our rally site, and lend a hand in last minute preparations. Whatever time you come, use lots of sunscreen, bring a good supply of water, and wear a sun hat , The weather is predicted to be well over 100 degrees, with high humidity. There will be big fans set up to at least stir the air a bit, but be prepared to be hot. It is, after all, August in Texas.
Once again, here is where to find us: We will be at the Community Center, which is next to the Crawford High School football stadium, on East 4th Street. Freepers and friends who are already on site will be placing directional signs around Crawford, guiding folks to our site. Of course, there's always the possibility that these signs will be removed or destroyed by the other side--but we are trying to make it easy for everyone to find our event.
At this point, we have no idea how many will show up, of course. I've seen all sorts of estimates---but from experience, I know these estimates are always hugely overblown. However many show up is how many we will have is my best estimate--LOL!
We have an excellent lineup of speakers--most of whom are family of active duty service men and women in the Middle East now, and we have at least one man who will speak, who did at least one tour in Iraq himself, but who, sadly, buried his twin brother in June--the victim of a gun battle between US Forces and the terrorists.
A group of firemen will be cooking and serving Barbequed brisket and sausage on the grounds. We are asking for a freewill donation to cover the firemen's cost when you get your barbeque.
Angelwood has provided us with some of her wonderful Freeper buttons to pass around, and freeper W04 (I can't remember all of his name--will look it up and add it later), has sent some excellent, very large banners that we hope to be able to put across the front of the stage.
Kristinn has been in Crawford since Wednesday, making all the important arrangements for procurring all things necessary for putting on a rally of this magnitude. Doctor Raoul will once again be joining us.
Hope to meet and greet a whole lot of Freepers tomorrow!
EAGLES UP!
Terrific SOS photo!
Otherwise you need a Conceal permit.

Aww, she/it might leave.
I really hope that cowboy shows up!
Or if you're law enforcement.
Bless all of you involved in this incredible gathering for our troops, C-I-C and country. From the daughter of a Vietnam Vet, I have a lump in my throat that THIS time these people WILL be confronted. THIS time they aren't going to be allowed to tear down this country without active resistance. Thank you.
A well deserved bump. Love that second picture!
Well I have to say I saw it today around noonish PST.I was surprised, but maybe management has something to say what gets played.I only saw it once. You know they say they are fair and balanced.
Just hope the crowd is large enough that the entire town of Crawford become one huge rally......
Stay safe! BUT....If you get a chance throw a few eggs for me...... (Just for old time sake...My cousin and I were discussing today that we both threw them at our respective colleges at the antiwar demonstrator during Nam.)
I'll be looking for you. I'll have my screen name on the back window of my truck (white silverado), in case you see me driving by. I'll either be wearing my Vietnam vet hat with a Huey on the front or a cowboy hat my wife may make me wear.
Do you guys need any money?
PayPal anyone?
I'm in the western Waco suburbs and wish I could be with all of you, but have long standing family obligations tomorrow. I'll check FR regularly. If anybody needs any local information about food, lodging, directions, etc., please ping me and I'll try to check in as often as possible. I'm proud to know so many FReepers will be in Crawford countering Cindy's lunacy.

From a Cindy webpage: just WOW!!!
I have arrived in Waco as of just minutes ago. Tonight I am at the Super8 off 17th St exit; I am alone but got a double bed room in case any FReeper already here or coming tonight will have a place to stay if need be.
Gracey, I'll see you and the rest of the FReeper introverts tomorrow and later at the Quality Inn. If you know of anyone coming in tonight w/o a place have them call me on my cell # or via the Super8 front desk who will connect them. I'm using the hotel pc and can't really stay on long other than checking in.
basil gave my # to kristinn to call me if they need help setting up in the AM; I plan on getting there well before 9am. Have a safe drive everyone and look me up when you get here, as I haven't met most of you yet.
I would be surprised also...
If I ever see it...I am going e-mail Fox and complain!
Perhaps the press needs to know that the KKK is joining forces with Mrs. Sheehan

Rules invoked re. Ann Coulter posting!
Deal! I have blond hair, I'm a grandmother, and I'll be wearing a purplish shirt and plaid bermudas that match.
I'll PROBABLY be sitting under a shelter of some sort.
Take a baggy and stick an old washcloth inside so that when you get really hot, you can wet it and put it on your neck. ;-)
LET'S ROLL!
