Jerry has local talk show on KMBZ 980. Yesterday he talked at length about a story regarding those who facilitate illegal immigration via Day Labor sites:
"Watchdog Puts Herndon Planning Commission on Legal Notice Over Citizens' Objections to Proposed "Day Laborer" Site" http://www.judicialwatch.org/5391.shtml
85% of the workers at this day labor site are ILLEGAL!!
He started to wonder aloud about how high the percentage is here, and talked about doing some investigative reporting on local day labor sites.....
He came on the air mad as hell, he recieved call from ***police officer*** "lobbying" him to STOP TALKING ABOUT IT!!
KC....listened to him when he was in NC too.
It that Bat Girl out of her costume?
Jerry Agar is a friend of this site and the N.C. Freepers.
darla jay SUCKS!
do you know why they fired russ johnson?
Dunno....I heard that he - ahem - "pursued other interests." All the reports that I've seen/heard say that it was a mutual decision. It was right after he criticized that guy who got killed trying to stop the purse-snatcher.
I don't listen to darla-jay...I pick up the talk shows with Rush and sometimes catch Jerry's show on the drive home (depending on the topic.)
Aw, come on... Darla J. doesn't really suck. Okay, she seems to like to choose topics where she can second-guess decisions made by others, and does tend to run them into the ground, BUT, give her time, she's still getting a feel for Kansas City. Her topic on "lane nannies" was a hoot!
Russ Johnson would get so smary sometimes I would just turn him off, which would leave me with nothing to listen to since Hannity on the other station.
Is there a KC KS/MO ping list somewhere for Fly-Over Country FReepers???
Is there anymore information as to why this cop allegedly wanted Agar to stop talking about it? What reasons if any did he give?
CC&E
Hehehe....I kinda like his style. I get sooo tired of the "Mister Nice Guy" stuff.
CC&E
Well, he surely is CURT, to put it mildly and he doesn't suffer fools at ALL.
But he came to a lot of the NC rallys and supported us on the radio.
I don't always agree with him either. Duhhh....I don't remember what his views on homeschooling are but I like it when he bashes the publik skool system.
I used to hear Agar on occasion when traveling through Raleigh. He was ok, but I agree he didn't come across as connecting with the local people.
I really dont know, but Jerry is a reliable upstanding man
i dunno but put me on it!
I miss Jerry Agar, he was much better than the guy who has replaced him here in Raleigh. My top vote for the afternoon drive is in Atlanta... WGST's Kimmer. Boy, do I miss Kim Peterson.
Semper Fi Kimmer! You're a great American!
I used to listen to Jerry Agar here in Raleigh. He's got good ideas, not bad for a Canadian ;-) Just a little too much of a whiner for my taste. Despite what he might say, he also doesn't have much of a tolerance for differing opinions and sometimes his outbursts were a little embarassing.
I wouldn't pick him to argue my case even though he's a closet Freeper. He used to have Congressman Billybob on the show each week to discuss the constitution. That was the best part of the show.
I finally shut Darla Jay off this morning. Too much bluster and comes across like today's liberals when she argues with callers. I'm not talking about her views, but her lack of civility and hanging up on callers she doesn't agree with (and not the seminar callers). At times I think she is going to snap.
They should've hired George Wood when 710 fired him (that Van Patrick guy is always talking about Hollywood and movies when I flip through the channels). Any idea where Wood is now?
Don't know about Russ Johnson, never really listened in the afternoons, but he never appealed to me.
