Shaffer Provides New Information on Hannity and Colmes - Thursday
Hannity and Colmes | 08-18-05 | mercy

Posted on 08/18/2005 6:43:48 PM PDT by mercy

Tonight Shaffer, with his usual concise and direct style, gave us new tidbits to ponder.

In response to Hannity's question regarding how and why the infomation was not passed along Shaffer offered, "A two star general repremanded him in his strenuous insistance that the information regarding Atta and three others should be passed to the FBI. He was blocked and blocked completly by this two star who went so far as to upbraid him and remind him he was a general and Shaffer was not. "

This is one more significan blow to the criminal actions of the 9/11 CYA commission and perhaps a certain general. I can't wait till his name comes out. Perhaps he is no longer in the chain of command as sure he would still be working to block this coming out.

Although it didn't get much notice on FR earlier today information from Shaffer stated that the Bush Administration had known about these revelations since two weeks after 9/11. Very nearly four years. evidently they chose to let sleeping dogs lie. Probably part of Bush's 'New Tone in Washington' plan.

Back in 1998 I had two 'favorite places' bookmarked that I visited numerous times every day. The first, of course, was 'White Water' (aka Free Republic) and the other was Drudge. About six tears ago, Drudge dropped Free Republic from his list of links and I dropped Drudge from my 'favorite places'. (Note: This was even BEFORE Drudge became a highly communicable source of spyware and malware.)

Drudge is full of himself. Bottom line: If Drudge didn't "break" the story, then he's not going to cover it. Therefore, he will continue to steer clear of the 9/11 Commission scandal, just like he steered clear of the Swift Boat Veterans. As great as Matt used to be, he's hit his peak and is pretty much just treading water at this point.

No, I read that as I went thro the thread. It shouldn't be hard to find who the two stars were in the Pentagon at the time.

I think a lot of folks misunderstand his agenda. It's all about gossip. A lot of people thought his campaign against the Clintons was a Republican thing.

funny about the spyware and all that - I get slammed with pop ups even with good software that should fight it. The worst is when you forget to close the window and his site pops up when it is refreshed and screws up what you are working on

Seems to me that Matt has lost his heart.

You may know more than me, but 2 stars in the Pentagon are a dime a dozen. They're everywhere. Since 9/11, most defense links have been greatly cleaned up of all personal information--contact information. The 2 star we're talking about was in the Defense Intelligence Agency. I suspect it would be tough to track him/her down w/out some real clues. I could be wrong.

VADM Thomas R. Wilson (Jul 99-Jul 02) is the correct time frame.

From that story you linked:

"Within two weeks of the attack, this colleague of mine ... she took that very poster [with Mohamed Atta] to Congressman [Curt] Weldon," Shaffer said. "And I have to say he took it right to Michael Hadley, I believe, over at the NSC."

Wonder why he said, 'Michael Hadly'.. shouldn't that be Stephen Hadly?

Thanks for the link. I think we here at FR--yes, I'm guilty as well-- have spent way too much time on Cindy Sheehan and her anti-Semitic moonbat pals. We need to dig into this Able Danger thing. It's really important. There are several good blogs that are tracking it closely, including the Captain's Quarters. See the links below for starters:

ooohhh this is good: (from Captain's)

Shaffer has predicted that this PhD will come forward publicly in the next few days, just as soon as she gets assurances that she will suffer no retaliation for talking about the program publicly. The other source, the Navy captain who tried to get the Commission to investigate Able Danger in 2004, still wants his name withheld. However, Orin reports that the AP outed him yesterday. His rank and expertise in futuristic naval warfare has been apparently confirmed by the news agency. [CQ will not use his name until/unless he does so publicly himself out of consideration for his current assignment.]

"VADM Thomas R. Wilson (Jul 99-Jul 02) is the correct time frame."

He must have been there during part of the time. A history of DIA says "the Secretary of Defense stated that Y2K was his number one priority for 1999." One of his thrusts was also attacking the "data base problem" whatever that means.

I thought Able Danger was Special Operations Command, not DIA.

"However, Orin reports that the AP outed him yesterday."

I think I saw the Navy captain's name as Scott Philpott. I've not been able to locate him either in any Google searches or even in the DC area in white pages searches. We'll see.

Bush clan loves Bubba...

It would be interesting to know what brought this love-fest about and more importantly, what "arrangement" was agreed upon.

Wow...amazing..Matt Drudge is out to lunch on this story.

He also didn't bother to post that the price of oil was down about 3 dollars yesterday. This after weeks of posting every penny increase.
