Back in 1998 I had two 'favorite places' bookmarked that I visited numerous times every day. The first, of course, was 'White Water' (aka Free Republic) and the other was Drudge. About six tears ago, Drudge dropped Free Republic from his list of links and I dropped Drudge from my 'favorite places'. (Note: This was even BEFORE Drudge became a highly communicable source of spyware and malware.)

Drudge is full of himself. Bottom line: If Drudge didn't "break" the story, then he's not going to cover it. Therefore, he will continue to steer clear of the 9/11 Commission scandal, just like he steered clear of the Swift Boat Veterans. As great as Matt used to be, he's hit his peak and is pretty much just treading water at this point.

I think a lot of folks misunderstand his agenda. It's all about gossip. A lot of people thought his campaign against the Clintons was a Republican thing.

funny about the spyware and all that - I get slammed with pop ups even with good software that should fight it. The worst is when you forget to close the window and his site pops up when it is refreshed and screws up what you are working on

Seems to me that Matt has lost his heart.

We're getting off topic here but I had a place in the 97-98 I used to go to called The Jeffersonian Project. Anyone remember that? It was sort of like FreeRepublic and I think I either found FR through them or through Drudge. After I found FR, I never went back to Drudge. What I like so much about this place are the comments everyone makes to the story. Bounces it around and you get to hear various opinions and ideas. Drudge is just headlines and stories, no feedback.
