Gay Teacher Question for Freepers (Vanity)
None | 8/17/05 | Dr._Joseph_Warren

Posted on 08/17/2005 7:58:48 AM PDT by Dr._Joseph_Warren

Question:

Ignoring all legal issues....

Would you care/object if your children's teacher was openly (not flaming) gay?

Would it make any difference if the gay teacher was male or female?

Would it make any difference if the gay person taught elementary, middle school or high school?

The thing is, there are pedophiles everywhere, even among Rabbi's. Judaism is not immune nor any better.

The Catholic and other denominations for that matter, have been cleaning up the problem. The new pope while he was working under Pope John began cleaning up the mess, no one payed attention.

It appears however, that some, like United and Anglican churches, welcome gays and are inviting potential problems on themselves. In the case of Anglicans, it will probably spit the church eventually.

There are several good books on sexual addiction, I have read 3 or 4.

Whereas not all sex addicts are gay, most are at least bi-sexual.

Woman that have sex with young woman are gay, the ones tht have sex with young boys are not, unless of course they are also having sex with young girls.

Rush mentioned a report several moths ago that covered alot o this issue that the NEA I think was trying to suppress.

I just took a look at the referenced article and the website of the organization that sponsored it, "People can Change". I'm sorry, but I don't really buy the "research" of a religious organization with what appears to be an agenda.

"Is that a theory based on personal experience or a biased research paper you read"

So if it is true it is biased? So if it is true it must be from personnal experience? Projection? I think you need to look within yourself for the real answer to that question, I think you already know it is true. Which park in Fairfax County do you go to at night?

I agree that the "gay is good" movement is taking things too far. But I think public schools by and large dropped the ball insofar as protecting students from teasing and harassment--whether it is because they were perceived as gay, or fat, or ugly, or mentally slow, etc. I know when I was in school I witnessed many students over the years getting teased and teachers just turned a blind eye. When I taught school it was one of the things that angered me the most, and I was always quick to jump on the student who made fun of someone because they read slow or didn't run as fast or something. Backlash is what always happens when something is ignored for a long time. The push back and forth between the sides will eventually bring things to an equilibrium where hopefully schools can be tolerant without promoting it.

It's splitting it as we speak. Yesterday on the radio I heard about one of several LA area Episcopalian churches who have asked one of the African divisions (I don't know the technical terms) of the Anglican church - I think Ugandan - to be their overseer instead of the American pro-gay one.

When society rightly shamed and suppressed homosexuality the instance of it was tiny. Maybe 1/100 percent. I know. I had eyes to see fifty years ago. I'm 55 now.

There were the same number of homosexuals. They were just either completely underground or they only lived in very specific enclaves, such as the Village in NYC and in San Francisco. The fact that you weren't aware of them doesn't mean that they didn't exist. Our society has advanced to the point where homosexuals can live in Topeka, Kansas, without fear of being beaten by the locals.

If you want to know the truth its out there. Stop buying the homosexual agenda. Its all lies.

So you say. Yet your only reason for believing that there used to be less homosexuals in this country is the fact that you want to believe it.

It is plain to see that normal teens these days are openly experimenting with homosexuality.

Those teens experimenting aren't homosexual, exactly. They're most likely heterosexual, but they have some bisexual tendencies. The percentage of people who are only attracted to their own sex remains the same, despite the fact that some high school chicks get drunk and make out with their best friend.

The rat studies proved that simply overcrowding such as we see in cities will bring about all sorts of aberrant behavior. Including homosexuality.

Humans aren't rats. In any event, living in cities doesn't turn people aberrant. It simply allows aberrant people to find others like them.

And, following that argument, Singapore should be the most homosexual place in the world, as it is the most urbanized.

So in your world view, only secular or atheist organizations have any validity? What kind of strange bias is that?

BTW, if you read all the info down the thread, you'd have a lot of reading to do.

Could it be that you have an agenda?

If they kept this at home where it belongs, I would be unaware of their sexual orientation. Once I am made aware, my child would be pulled.

"Grow up - get a life - and quit acting like a homosexual liberal whinning brat!@"

Firstly...it's "whining" not "whinning"...

Secondly, I should have realized from your post that it would be impossible to have a halfway reasonable discussion with you. You're obviously much more comfortable being confrontational and insulting, in adition to being a mental midget.

I went to a different school every single year and know first hand what teasing, bullying, and being made fun of is like.

The problem with "tolerance" is this:

1. Those promoting homosexuality do not want tolerance, they want to dominate the cultural climate. And they are extremely intolerant of anyone who disagrees with them - no matter how polite or reasonable. ANd they are intolerant of any organization (such as the BSA) who doesn't surrender to their demands.

2. Children in grade school or high school should not be encouraged to think they are "gay" - and that is what being so-called tolerant is all about. No one has to be "gay". This tolerance stance is all about promotion, and getting confused kids to join the ranks of fresh meat.

Did you just make that up to try and discredit People Can Change? From their website

This is not a religion-based group. People of all faiths -- or no faith -- are welcome.
You don't have to buy the research, but you should definitely checkout Dr. Robert Spitzer:

I am not sure how it should be done or what exactly it might be called (if tolerance is too tainted of a word or concept) but I think something should be done to guide students not to ridicule and bully students who are peceived as gay (or fat, or stupid, etc.) Too many teachers just turn a blind eye because they don't want to get involved or they think the kids should work it out themselves or they just don't know what to do and so do nothing.

Schools simply need to enforce more discipline. Students belittling or harassing other students should simply not be allowed, regardless what the bullying was based on.

This thread:

LINK

from 2001 has all the links concerning the gay agenda and studies proving the high instance of pedophilia amongst gay males.

Of course there are many more sources since 2001 but just these would take many many hours to read.

horsefeathers, the problem is those who are confused and have been recruited by the homosexuals. EVERYONE is not supposed to be bullied. The homosexual lobby has just pushing the "some animials are more equal than others" BS.

The bottom line is that homosexuality is NOT a normal lifestyle. It is an alternative to the norm. Homosexuals should NOT be anywhere near children, they should not be in any position of authority over children.

In fact keeping them away from college minds full of mush would probably do society a whole lot of good too.

"So in your world view, only secular or atheist organizations have any validity? What kind of strange bias is that?"

I don't believe that it's a "strange bias" to think that research should not include preconceived notions about the behavior being studied. It has nothing to do with secularism or atheism, it has to do with accurately reporting and analyzing data without cherry-picking anecdotes to support an argent.

"BTW, if you read all the info down the thread, you'd have a lot of reading to do."

I'll admit I didn't read that whole thread, but given the nature of responses to this one, I can guess how it went.

"Could it be that you have an agenda?"

An agenda? I'm not quite sure what you mean. If you are implying that I am a homosexual, no, I am not. But I do have a number of friends who are and I think they are perfectly respectable individuals and it bothers me to see them being lumped into a group that includes people that have sex with children, animals, and the dead.

Teachers are stong role models for children. How many times have we heard youngsters say, "I want to be just like my teacher"? On that basis I would have to object to my child having a gay teacher.
