The Heart of Texas Chapter of FreeRepublic.com is holding a rally in Crawford, Texas today to show America's support for our troops, President Bush and the war on terrorists in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere around the world.
The rally will be held at noon at the Crawford Civic Center at 1000 4th Street.
Freepers are coming from near and far to join the H.O.T. Chapter in Crawford. If you live within four hours drive of Crawford, it's not too late to hit the road and get on down there.
Folks in attendance will be calling in to me, Brad's Gramma and Jeff Head with live updates from the scene. I am told that cellphone coverage in Crawford is spotty. However, it may have gotten better of late.
We'll see.
Hat's off to Basil, Doctor Raoul, The Sarce and 2ndAmendmentMama (and anyone else) who've been scrambling the past two days to make this happen. Good luck!
I had an okay day,my mind wasn't really on work it was in Crawford with our FREEPERS!!!:)
Trust me I would have found away to get my family and myself down there, if I didn't have to work.Calling in sick came to mind, but we are already short on people so I had to nix that thought.
Great pictures and it is awesome that we did get some Media coverage.
GO FREEPERS!!!!
I missed the Trump sign, don't get it, but pretty funny.
More of my report:
We needed the time to get set up but every one brought dozens or many flags. The place was covered with them.
We set signs up on the edge but leaning up on the fence so
That if we had a lot of people show up they could pick up a sign.
The clue to which rally to attend was sure distinguished by the flags. Even Dr. Raoul mentioned it. They don't ever have flags and he couldn't turn one iota without seeing a flag.
A family came with 5 kids with 2 in wheel chairs and they found a shady spot to set up. I can't imagine the logistics of that. I brought extra sign makin's but they had 6 of the most beautifully painted signs. If they read this please post the messages of the signs.
Unfortunately we all gravitated to the shade and that turned the speaker around & left Dr. Raoul speaking in the sun.
We are sorry but it was great for us. He was wonderful!
We had a prayer (safety for our troops), the pledge of allegiance and Whitney Houston singing the Star Spangled Banner from her single, a good singer did come to the front to lead us all sing it.
The Dr. Raoul went over so many things.
He told us what has been happening in DC with Code Pink going to Walter Reed Hospital to support the troops with horrible signs and tacky behaviour. Last night they got so mad when a wounded soldier went to talk to them that the Code Pink people laid their hands on the hero.
I can't believe that no one teaches good manners anymore.
No more Ben & Jerry's. Buy Blue Bell, it's from the little Creamery in Brenham, TEXAS.
Check out on Fox News now--Company of Heros on now here...well in 2 minutes. Hope you get to see it--it should be awesome. Connie said bring kleenex!!!
I am so proud to be a part of such an awesome group of patriots!
he says the things I want to say!!!! LOL!
You bet and it's the way he says it is a riot :-)
Now that Al Jazeera is backing her and using her propaganda, I can't help but think any sympathy left for her will soon be history.
"The Blue Angels have been practicing over our house since Thur. Very cool."
They were here for SeaFair (includes hydroplane races) last weekend. I think this is the only place where they do their show over a lake (or maybe over water). Anyway, every year for a number of years, we take my stepfather's boat on Lake Washington down towards the races and the logboom to get a great view. Every year I get goosebumps ans we all oooh and ahhh watching them - - they're GREAT!
And, this year, one of them flew right over us a couple of times, which was awesome.
that guy was a hoot! he had a great selection of music. country is not my gig but he was perfectly content being obnoxious with the blasting around the pink camp, and the crawford police didn't seem to have a problem with it
Oh, yeah! Mark absolutely pulls no punches! The only way I can get the show is streaming on the computer...so I have to miss it sometimes. He makes me laugh!
Heavenly 'Dittos' and AMEN!
Blue Bell--the best ice cream in the world!!!!!!
Good question. It's not like other mothers haven't paid the same price since 1775.
One lady at the rally said her grandfather was in WW-I, her father in WW-II, her ex husband in Vietnam, her son in Desert Storm, and her grandson is serving now.
Now that's pretty remarkable. All the more so since she is an African American lady and back in WW-I and WW-II, it wasn't necessarily easy for them to serve
....
OH Almost forgot. She said if she were young enough, she'd be over there now!
That needs to be said again:
I can't believe that no one teaches good manners anymore.
Dr. Raoul told us of who exactly the Code Pink organization is, where they come from and who the major players are. It is very scary. And predictable.
We had Marine moms from Houston speak about their kids experiences.
One Soldier who has served 3 tours and has volunteered to go back again!!!
(Someone asked if Mr. Bat Lady didn't come. He is represented by the sign in picture # 1050. Look at the last one on the right
Imagine
Whirled peace
..niks
I thought about standing out at the road where they were all driving by
I was sure to be mugged. )
Better get this up so you can see
.. a great time was had by all!!!!
The Statue of Liberty
Mark Levin is off this coming week, vacation. He refused to say where he'd be! lol
thanks, my parents in the pics, now i will refer to them as the family media hoes!
That lady sounds awesome!!
Lord--he sure wouldn't the lib bunch to know where he was! Guess I won't go looking for him then unless he has an equally good guest host! Do you know who it will be?
Ah, twern't that bad. Some shade, some breeze, some clouds plenty of water. At least we have the sense to wear hats and bring water. Only got really hot a couple of times when the breeze either died or changed direction enough that we were in a wind shadow.
"CRAWFORD, United States (AFP) - Hundreds of demonstrators against the war in Iraq squared of with others rallying in support of President George W. Bush, outside Bush's vacation home."
From what I've seen and read here, it should read:
Twenty to fifty demonstrators agains the war in Iraq squared off with 200+ rallying in support of President George W. Bush.
