8/12/05 Update:
Here I am again! I just got a call from the police in Crawford, and they have moved our location! (Are you believing this? ) I need to make another prominent announcement--and hope you will help one more time. What's your opinion about starting yet another thread? We already have two going, I think. Announcement: The Crawford police have changed our permit location.
We are now being asked to congregate in the Community Center parking, in the 1000 block of East 4th St.
This is very close to where they had located us first, so, hopefully, people who don't get this message can see us and come on over. Thanks for everyone's patience with all these changing "news flashes"

THE FREEPER RALLY IN CRAWFORD IS ON!!
The Heart of Texas Chapter of Free Republic invites all patriots who support President Bush, our troops and their mission fighting the war on terrorists in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere, to join us in Crawford, Texas this Saturday at noon for a patriotic, flag waving rally.
All who attend are encouraged to bring American, Texas and service flags, large and small, as well as signs bearing messages of support for our troops, their commander-in-chief and their mission in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere.
The radio stations that were planning to hold a rally on Saturday have canceled due to outside pressure. Therefore there will be no free food or soda available like they were going to provide. So please bring your own snacks and plenty of water or other non-alcoholic beverages.
Please note: This rally is NOT about Cindy Sheehan. Do not bring any signs that mention her at all.
Being that Crawford is a bit hot these days, we encourage everyone attending to be on their best behavior and not do or say anything to embarrass our troops and their families. That means no cussin' and no fightin'. Seriously. If you don't think you can behave yourself, do everyone (including the Crawford police) a favor and stay home.
We are waiting to hear from the Crawford police about where we can hold a permitted rally. We have been told it will be allowed, we just need to know where exactly in Crawford that will be. We will make an announcement as soon as the location is nailed down.
In the meantime, please copy and pass this announcement along to your families, friends and e-mail lists if you think they'll want to stand up for our country on Saturday. Our troops need to hear from us loud and clear that we support them and their mission.
See you in Crawford!
We now have an assigned spot where we can gather.
There is a field with a lake that is owned by the city. We have been assigned the north end of that field--(closest to the Fina station)
We will be at the intersection of East 4th and Chisolm Trail.
Remember, the law enforcement in Crawford will be very busy, and probably over-extended. Let's make this a very orderly Freep, if at all possible.
THIS IS STRICTLY A RALLY TO LET OUR TROOPS KNOW THERE IS SUPPORT FOR THEM HERE AT HOME.
You are absolutely right. The MSM would twist ANY message directed at Cindy Sheehan to fit their anti-war agenda. Truth be told though, CS is exploiting her son. Shame.
Here's wishing Cindy's "other" family members can join in on these events soon.

I have plans but want to come. I couldn't get there till around 2:30pm which is a bit late. Should i still make the drive From Dallas or not bother? If everyone is still going to be there and still going strong than I might consider making the drive. I want to join the rest of my Texas Freepers!
Please name any radio stations that have refused to be there.
The guy on KLIF morning show in dallas is talking about going there tomorrow right now.

At this point, I have no idea when this thing will break up. It's up to you to decide if you want to chance it--I am assuming we won't break up before 2:30 at the earliest--and then we will meet somewhere and eat--we'll decide on where during the rally.
With your attitude, you won't be missed.

Mike Gallagher is on the air trying to get a couple of busses ready to roll from Dallas this afternoon.
I heard a mother of a Ft. Hood soldier on the radio yesterday. She said the soldiers at Ft. Hood are angry that this mother is disrespecting her son and his service. Many of them plan to come.
The real question, will the OLD MEDIA report it? nah!
