The local affiliate Fox 19 has just called the race for Jean Schmidt over Paul Hackett 52 to 48 percent.

The reason they keep trying: they only need to win once. To defend freedom, capitalism, and morality, we need to win every time. Once a particular battle is lost for our side, it rarely gets reversed.

Exactly. The Dems knew from polling that they weren't going to win, so they hyped the notion that a close loss is really a victory.
The question that needs analysis, from real analysts and not from me, is what shape are the Republicans in for the 2006 elections. No reason not to consider this a wake-up call for Republicans with regard to 2006.

I completely agree with your post about Norm Coleman; he has been so impressive in such a short time and he stands head and shoulders above so many others newly in office.
