Schmidt Wins 08/02 11:05 PM

The local affiliate Fox 19 has just called the race for Jean Schmidt over Paul Hackett 52 to 48 percent.

Many thanks to all The Buzz readers who helped keep all of us on breaking news side of this.

And thanks to everyone who kept reading late tonight as well.

The Channel 9 affiliate has called the race as well.

Hackett, the Dem challenger, was a Marine... His commercials never identified him by party(emphasis added)

AND THE DEMOCRATS WANT TO CALL THIS A MORAL VICTORY???? WHAT A JOKE!!

Rush was talking about it yesterday, that was my source.

Haccket's tight lips were because he wanted everybody to think he was active combat.

Check Rush's site.

Thank you for your service.

"LOL, Another huge win for the RATS dashed :-)"

As Rush pointed out, this left wing POS never on any ads admitted to or owned up to being a DemonicRat.

Liberals can't win elections if they tell who they are and their real agendas. So they need dead voters, welfare queen voterss, illegal alien voters and felon voters to win elections.

What a pathetic group of Soros's droppings the DemonicRats have become.

Right... Yes, I do. What has been the reaction by the screwball senator that cried on the floor over Bolton since the President appointed him in there? LOL. That guy is nuts.

But I guess the two I have (Mrs. Slick Willy and Schumer) ain't any better....

I never thought I'd say this, but.....I applaud the sound political defeat of my brother Marine (he's really more lawyer than Marine, anyway).

When was the last time the Lefties "mobilized" and invested heavily (time, money, and manpower) and actually won a seat they were expected to lose?

The reason they keep trying: they only need to win once. To defend freedom, capitalism, and morality, we need to win every time. Once a particular battle is lost for our side, it rarely gets reversed.

I haven't checked, but I bet that MediaMatters has a piece up about how Rush was trashing veterans again, just like Republicans Always do, belittling their service for political purposes.

Anybody want to go slumming and check it out?

How do you even go to DU. They are mostly 15 year old who freak out the 19 year olds who call their grandma and freak her out that the evil Bush followers are going to take her SS and take food from the mouths of babies..............

That mentality I can get on evening news if I were to subject myself to such stupidity.

"I believe I hear the sound of spin."

Exactly. The Dems knew from polling that they weren't going to win, so they hyped the notion that a close loss is really a victory.

The question that needs analysis, from real analysts and not from me, is what shape are the Republicans in for the 2006 elections. No reason not to consider this a wake-up call for Republicans with regard to 2006.

If the 20 Ohio Marienes had died last week, I wonder if she would have still squeaked it out.

"I was just reading that the Pub is a bit of a RINO and was opposed by the Club For Growth in the primary.
Also, the Dem is a Marine who just got back from Iraq and ran as a conservative."

And yet... And yet, the 'Pubbie won; I wonder how Katie Couric will explain this?

In other words, a little-known Republican defeated a well-funded Democrat who ran as a Republican.

Well summarized!

What has been the reaction by the screwball senator that cried on the floor

I'm of the opinion that the medical files of public servants should be open for inspection.
When someone is empowered with decision making powers over matters of import, he should have no right to privacy in that respect

I'm saying this because clearly Vonie was on some types of meds that had not yet stabilized.

Grown men do not burst out in tears on the Senate floor.

I completely agree with your post about Norm Coleman; he has been so impressive in such a short time and he stands head and shoulders above so many others newly in office. If only the media would focus on this incredible "go-getter" superstar of the GOP who has already DONE things in office, instead of re-treading tired old DNC themes dressed up as something else to fool voters (Hackett and Obama).

I'm daydreaming again of a FAIR media, which just isn't going to happen.

Rush exposed this guy a Marine Reserve Lawyer who went there in a non-combat position. His adds never really mentioned that he was a Democrat.
